Honestly, why not? If they had the same limits as progens and were account-bound, and as long as they were a rare treat, I think this could be a really fun feature to keep players excited and keep things fresh and fun. I think this would be a really cool idea for player anniversaries.
I could only support this if it were extremely limited, and in line with like a birthday or a whee you've been on he site a year. Otherwise it does make the breeding aspect of the game defunct. If they were offered for sale, it'd be a pay to win game, and we already have issues with that.
I agree with Synesthesia, it's a really cool idea but it could interfere with the breeding mechanic. Maybe if you couldn't breed the custom wolves/you could only do it a few times? That way they're basically cosmetic, you can have a cool wolf that you design yoursslf but you can't use it in breeding projects so it doesn't throw off the balance that much.
Other than that yeah I'd love to have a way to get more custom wolves, designing my starters was super fun & I think getting to do that every once in a while could be a good incentive for people to stick around for longer
Mostly don't support this. I'd be okay with it for like... Rare contest prizes? I think even account birthdays would make them too common, though. Granted, I think even in that sense, I'd prefer if some pretty admin-designed G1 was a contest prize over a custom ticket of any sort. Breeding websites that allow too many customs tend to make breeding past G2 basically pointless if they're available enough. But overall, the custom dogs we get at the beginning of the game are basically already designed to our tastes, and we get two of them, which is one more than a lot of other sites allow.
I like the idea of getting a once-a-year token to create a custom wolf, say on the anniversary of your join date, or on your birthday. If once a year is to common than maybe it could be limited in some other way
