I've seen a few different "fix professions" suggestions, but none of them that quite hit like this. (namely, this one inspired me re: compost/water differences)
So, what I would love to see is more professions being integrated with each other. Currently, Mining helps mining and crafting, and fishing, cooking, crafting, farming, and hunting only help themselves (kinda/not even really).
I would love to be able to craft a fishing pole or net to help me fish faster/better (when you click a spot, you get two drops instead of one, etc.) or cook a complex recipe that gives me some fish food/bait to entice more fish to come to the surface. I'd like to be able to get a hunting reward that helps me in one of the professions (kind of like the gold bars, but maybe some recipes for crafting, seeds, etc.).
I'd love to be able to craft stuff like pickaxes/wheels but for the other professions (going back to the linked thread above, maybe we change farming so that compost/water are used to plant the seeds initially, but then you have to water them to keep them "alive" and compost can be used to speed up the process). maybe i need to craft a watering can to hold the water, or a pitchfork to turn the compost heap and collect that. maybe I can make something in cooking that gives me Super Compost. Maybe I can make a trowel or other farming tools so I use less water/compost. maybe i need to make something that helps me weed, which increases my yields (or I can pay Tiny and Bigs to weed for me).
I want to be able to cook food (like a complex recipe that includes corn) and have thumbs pick out some viable seeds for me in the process.
With the new archaeology profession coming soon, I'd love to have crafting recipes dedicated to this like with the mining pickaxe/wheel - we will need brushes! (we can dig with our paws but maybe shovels will make us faster)
I'd just like to see more integration in general. whats the point of mining? just to get bars to help you mine more which is kinda... eh? like, yes you can craft apparel (which is great!) but it would be cool if you could do more that is related to other areas of gameplay instead of each profession kind of being in its own little bubble.
I'd also like to see levels matter a bit more (this one has been said in plenty of other threads) but i like that cooking levels increase your cooking speed; this could easily be converted to the other professions as well - craft faster, crops grow faster or require fewer compost/water/seeds, etc.
