Kind of the female counterpart of “studding”, brooding!
Just earlier I found out what actually “studding” mean thanks to some very kind users (English is my third language and I couldn’t find a definition…. A user explained it was because it was a very specific vocabulary), so I was able to find out what’s the female counterpart of it :)
I actually found the word before “broodmare” where the female could offer services of “bearing young over and over” just like males offer services of female impregnation.
I’ve noticed that in my many litters (I have over 10 breeding pairs and have been doing this from the start), males would sell more easily than females, probably because they have this service that can help get more funding easier… so this suggestion would bring more equality?
Both are animal breeding terms and services used in real life, so it wouldn’t be too far fetched. I honestly prefer female poses overall than males and know other people that do, and in the long run it could also bring disadvantage to players that choose to have a certain pose over others because they’ll need to buy a male or buy studding services, whereas others will have a passive income constantly?
I know lorwolf is a very open minded site where equality is respected, so I think this suggestion reflect the site’s values and bring a more various gameplay to its users? :3
EDIT: this would also bring more equality on people that, for example, only have males but want to breed their males with similar pattern wolves ... they are forced to buy a female and keep a space for her when literally the same service as studding can be offered :D I see it as a win-win!
EDIT 2: @Gaia brings very good arguments that I want to bring out, here on top, which definitely makes this suggestion work better:
"I think automating the process for brooding would most likely be the best option with no risks for either party. Simply having the timer ticking down 72 hours + 24 hours (so essentially 96 hours) and then the pups are born and sent to the buyer, without any additional input needed from the seller."
And this without sending the female to someone else's pack or having the owner of the pup-bearer doing everything manually. The pups will be sent to the buyer's pack automatically! :D
