[Suggestion] Brooding services!

Kind of the female counterpart of “studding”, brooding!

Just earlier I found out what actually “studding” mean thanks to some very kind users (English is my third language and I couldn’t find a definition…. A user explained it was because it was a very specific vocabulary), so I was able to find out what’s the female counterpart of it :)

I actually found the word before “broodmare” where the female could offer services of “bearing young over and over” just like males offer services of female impregnation.

I’ve noticed that in my many litters (I have over 10 breeding pairs and have been doing this from the start), males would sell more easily than females, probably because they have this service that can help get more funding easier… so this suggestion would bring more equality?

Both are animal breeding terms and services used in real life, so it wouldn’t be too far fetched. I honestly prefer female poses overall than males and know other people that do, and in the long run it could also bring disadvantage to players that choose to have a certain pose over others because they’ll need to buy a male or buy studding services, whereas others will have a passive income constantly?

I know lorwolf is a very open minded site where equality is respected, so I think this suggestion reflect the site’s values and bring a more various gameplay to its users? :3

EDIT: this would also bring more equality on people that, for example, only have males but want to breed their males with similar pattern wolves ... they are forced to buy a female and keep a space for her when literally the same service as studding can be offered :D I see it as a win-win!

EDIT 2: @Gaia brings very good arguments that I want to bring out, here on top, which definitely makes this suggestion work better:
"I think automating the process for brooding would most likely be the best option with no risks for either party. Simply having the timer ticking down 72 hours + 24 hours (so essentially 96 hours) and then the pups are born and sent to the buyer, without any additional input needed from the seller."
And this without sending the female to someone else's pack or having the owner of the pup-bearer doing everything manually. The pups will be sent to the buyer's pack automatically! :D

No problems haha, I had to look it up as well!
And besides it would be a problem for the owner of the female because pups would be sent to the user that selected the female for brooding services ^^

I also fully support! It’d make things a lot easier, because I have females that I don’t want to gender swap, but I also don’t want to pay to get a stud or bother finding a partner so they just sit there. (Not that they don’t DO anything, they’re very active members helping me with hunts!)

Complete support especially as this is pretty good for any player that has a female wolf that they don't have a partner for yet.

Support, if it means that the person buying the brooding gets the pups.

An important thing though; birthing a nest takes 2 manual actions on the side of the owner of the female. When buying a stud, you are the one that has the female and therefore you are in full control of when (and if) the pups are ever born. When buying a brood listing however, the seller has the female, and they are the one that need to manually send the wolf to the nest after 3 days and then birth the nest after 24 more hours manually. This gives some significant risks to the buyer, as the seller can (either deliberately or not) end up never birthing the nest, causing the buyer to be out of their money and with 0 pups as a result. That is definitely something the staff will need to think of and find a solution for. Even with no ill will, real life can happen that may cause the seller to not be online for a long time or otherwise forget about the nesting.

@Gaia a good thing on how it would be useful is that the person buying uses its own nest and not the person owning the female brooder, or that things would be automatic since it's a service and it's not someone manually choosing to make two wolves breed!

You bring very good point, thank you for your very useful point of view because that would be a big problem indeed. Thank you <3

@Vanitatum: I think using your own nest would be impossible, since the female is pregnant and you do not own the female, so you can't use your own nest for it. If the female is temporarily transferred to the buyer's den, that poses significant risks to the seller (what if the buyer never births the nest and ends up with their female forever?). Even if it is only a virtual 'copy' of the female it would still pose risks, as a pregnant female cannot be bred again until the nest is born. Sorry, I see your edit now and misunderstood your first message. I definitely see the use for it! I just wanted to emphasize that the buyer (so the owner of the male) should get the pups, and not the seller/owner of the female. But I definitely think this is useful :D

this would be a really cool idea!

i think a neat aspect of this could be something like ‘lending’ your female/brooder wolf to the user paying for the service, and once she is done nesting the owner gets her back. i play another game called howrse and often times on the team im on, we’ll loan the mares to each other so the user breeding gets the foal, but the owner gets the horse back once the foal is born.
