My suggestion is to add some sort of ”starter wolf token” to the game.
The token would let you create another starter wolf, in addition to your original two.
To avoid flooding the game with starter wolves, there should definitely have to be some limitations to the token:
- Each player would only be allowed to purchase one (or maybe two) tokens per year. The token would not be tradeable.
- Only starter breeds and patterns would be available to choose from. (Of course it would be possible to use breed changes etc later like on other wolves)
- A wolf created with the token would have the same limitations as a normal starter wolf: no option to sell or stud the wolf.
I imagine this token would be sold in the mole market for moonstones. A token like this would be a great motivator to buy moonstones and support the game, and players who don’t have the option to buy moonstones would have a long term goal to save up to.
While spending time on breeding projects, or hunting for nice wild wolves, are fun for a lot of players, some players prefer to play around in the demo and then have the option to create their dream wolf to play dress up with. I think a limited starter wolf token would be a nice compromise that would let players create custom wolves, without making custom wolves take over the game.
