Item to hide or take off a gene

Hello there!

I wanted to suggest there be an item you could buy that could ‘hide’ or ‘disable’ a gene.

For example I dont like the colour of my wolf's under, then I could hide it to make it more appealing etc. I think it would be a great feature to save some poor wolf's who just happen to have that one muddy colour!

Ty!

I'm not against it necessarily, I'm sort of neutral leaning on support. I do enjoy the challenge of needing all the colors to look good, but I definitely wish I could hide some pesky colors myself, and sometimes it's not even about bad colors but just wanting the base to show in certain ways and areas that existing genes don't allow.

I'm not opposed to it, but I think I'd somewhat prefer to see new genes for each slot that are sort of like Cozen Top. Low opacity, soft gradients. You couldn't remove a color completely, but you could semi-hide a bad one by blending it into the rest of the wolf.

I think maybe a better, Lorwolf-style way of thinking about this issue is not to hide or disable a gene, but to add a new gene that hides the color.

Yeah, like “Under: None Toxic” - the unders are still a noxious green, but the marking means they don't show. Pups will inherit an under color between toxic and the other parent's color, and they'll either get the none marking or the other parent's marking.

I don't think we should be able to hide colors. I agree with Hawkfeather's suggestion to instead have interesting genes that can blend or do something more creative with unwanted color slots.
