Progen Recustomization Item?

Basically, for all the people who are upset with their Progens/Starter Wolves, a compromise could potentially be made where you could buy an item to re-access the customization options for them, and only them.

I have no idea how much this should actually cost, but I think about 7-10 Besprinklers's worth of price would probably be a good starting point?

I personally feel like this can be way too easily abused, even if it's for a high price. Since both progens are customizable instead of just one of them, you could give them both the exact colors of a wolf you would want, breed them, and boom, instant project wolf. Then just wait a few days until they can breed again and repeat with different colors of your choice. It would make most breeding projects pointless and would just make the game a grind for enough moonstones to buy those items, rather than actually trying to breed different wolves together to get your desired result.

Ocean hits it perfectly.

It's unfortunate people are upset about their starters but part of the appeal and fun of a pet site like this are the breeding projects and having a goal (a perfect wolf, so to speak) to work towards.

@Ocean @Pancake

I understand but like. They'll probably never allow us to release our starters, as doing so would soft-lock us. Why not give us the ability to change our wolves that we're stuck with? Even if it costs 3500 MS, I would be willing to save up and pay for that!

Semi in favor with a modification: It should have some kind of cooldown to prevent the situations described by Ocean/Pancake; for example, it can only be used once per year. Alternatively, it can only be used once per progen, period.

The progen setup as it is is pretty punishing to newbies who aren't familiar with games like this.

support with a cooldown, if someone wants to spend a ton to make an instant project wolf, why stop them?

I like this idea if it's a one-time use item, or maybe a birthday reroll? If it wouldn't mess with the gameplay too much -- i don't understand game design or the economy, but i'm in favor of leniency toward players unless it breaks the game. being a player myself, i have no bias whatsoever. anyway jokes aside, when people sign up for pet sites like this, Flight Rising etc., they usually have no idea how the color wheel works and because there's some urgency in making their first pets, they make progenitors without understanding a core game mechanic. A one-time or otherwise very rare re-customization option for progenitors would be helpful to those players.

At the end of the day, players chose their progens' colors. We weren't forced into making a rash decision; the demo was and always has been available for players to test the appearance of wolves to see what they would like. It's not ideal, but besprinkling is one's only option at the moment. There have been suggestions for a single area besprinkler, so perhaps if something like this is implemented in the future that would be a better option.

A potential middleground, however, could be a one-time only use item to reset progens' colors.

Support, but I think this would be better as a page on the site you can navigate to rather than an item. Maybe in account settings or something. That would allow staff to set and display prices and cooldowns in a more dynamic way to help prevent abuse. Cost could vary based on how big a change you're making. Price and cooldowns could also increase with each use.

While I'm relatively happy with the colors of my progens, I will admit I rushed on my second progen's colors.

I could support this with an extended cooldown. I think 1 year like Rabscuttle suggested would be a reasonable enough time for a cooldown, as it eliminates the rapidfire project pup creation, though I do agree with Chive's sentiment too
