I actually picked Darkspine during the beta, and having the ability to do the other questlines helped me realize I'd rather be a part of Murkwood! It just so happened that it got my brain turning for lore more than the others. I got the impression more that they value respect and honor, and, duels and fights are how they prove those things rather than it just being to survive. But maybe that is more headcanon on my part.
