Timer Bugs

UPDATE 12/12/2024:

Hey! I'm back again with another timer bug! This time, I have been experiencing an issue with the countdown in between level rounds in the Gauntlet

I want to clarify first and foremost that I am experiencing this issue on the InPrivate Microsoft Edge browser. Regular Microsoft Edge does not give me this issue!

While waiting for the timer to countdown from thirty seconds to zero, it will lag for a few seconds before suddenly skipping ahead ten seconds, displaying the incorrect countdown time and highlighting the continue button early. Upon clicking the button, it will correct its countdown timer and will continue counting down properly. Refreshing the page when the skip happens doesn't correct the issue, and it will skip forward ten seconds again.

Note that the Gauntlet is still keeping correct time behind the scenes, it just isn't showing it, so the time between rounds is thankfully not exploitable.

PREVIOUSLY:

It looks like something happened at some point after rollover, as the timers for Mining and Gauntlet are acting strangely. (Likely to do with Daylight Savings.) The bugs appear consistent on both my laptop and my mobile browsers, so it may be a site issue rather than a device/browser issue.

Gauntlet: The gauntlet timer will display correctly following a match for a second, but then turns to 1hr 0m instead of the next increment in the countdown. The timer still actually progresses as normal despite how it appears, so if you refresh it'll show the correct number of seconds before switching back to 1hr 0m and/or the Continue to Level X button depending. I actually let it run a little longer at one point because I was curious, and it changed to 59m and Xs, where it began to count down in the seconds coloumn like normal.

Resolved!

Mining: This one is less a countdown issue and more the ore not appearing as it is mined. I have to refresh the page to see if/when I mine ore. I usually play on a split screen, so I have two Lorwolf windows open at once, doing different things in each. The mining window doesn't progress whether it is my active window or not, so I have to keep refreshing to check on my minecart's contents.

Little update on the mining, the ore appears as it is mined again, but shows up in the first slot rather than the last.

Mining appears fixed now!

I’ve actually had the same (or at least a similar) bug with the gauntlet timer for a while, but never got around to report it, before it seemed to fix itself:

After a match the gauntlet timer would display the correct time left for a second, before adding a few seconds to the timer. It was around 12 seconds, I think.
So if the real time left on the countdown was 20 seconds, the timer would jump to show 32 seconds.
If I refreshed the page after the correct timer would have run out (so 20 seconds in this example), it would “fix” the timer and the “Next level”-button would be clickable.
If I let the “wrong” timer run down, the button would be clickable after 32 seconds.

It felt, at the time, as if the bug could have something to do with my habit of “skipping” the battle animation by refreshing the page (or even just going to a different page and then coming back).
The bug would actually get worse and start adding almost 30 seconds to the timer after a few days.
However, after I stopped playing the gauntlet all together for a few weeks, it worked normal again, once I came back (or at least seemed to).

I actually checked right now and my timer is starting to glitch again, but it currently only adds 1 second (I can see the timer jump up).

I’m playing on Desktop and use Firefox as a browser.

(Can’t say anything about the mining bug, since I don’t tend to stay on the page and watch my cart)

You can thank daylight savings for these timer bugs. It'll happen every year around this time and again in March.

@wolfi11 - Well, at least it isn't just me, then! I haven't noticed any issues with the timers before that I can think of, and I know that sometimes if I leave a tab while miningand go back to check my minecart will still show no additional progress, but actively having the window open and it not showing me my ore as I mine it is new for me.

@foxriddles - Ahhh, yeah that would likely have something to do with it, wouldn't it? I didn't notice it last year, but maybe I wasn't paying attention or it had already been fixed whenever I got around to doing my dailies.

Okay, double posting to update:

The Gauntlet timer is fixed, so I'll cross that off the original post, and the Mining bug is sort of resolved in that the ore appears in the cart as you mine it again, however, it drops the ore in the first slot. You have to refresh the page to show the ore at the end to avoid accidentally dropping anything you don't want to lose. I've had that happen before whenver things show up out of order, and it either prevented me from dropping the ore, saying there was some error, or it would drop whatever I actually had in that slot.
