At the risk of sounding like I'm writing the introduction for an online cooking recipe, I'll keep this brief--but allow me to get sappy for just a moment. :') This project has been my baby for quite a while now, and I'm so excited that I finally get to share it with everyone! I've always greatly admired people with a lot of experience in creating web themes; I have so many fond memories of using user-made CSS themes across a lot of petsites, but I've never actually taken it upon myself to make my own. I've dabbled here and there, but I never managed to commit to one fully... until now!

After a lot of trial & error, I believe I'm ready to share my creations with the public, and I hope to make more themes/adjustments as time goes on!

I wasn't sure where to put this since it's a resource more than anything... Mods, feel free to move it if you feel it's better-suited elsewhere.

▶ What is a Lorwolf Theme? ◀

Like Lorwolf's light & dark modes, I've created themes that modify the site's CSS. These types of changes are allowed on Lorwolf, as they don't alter gameplay in any way and are purely visual! They're also just a lot of fun to mess with in my opinion.

▶ How do I use CSS Themes? ◀

Any web browser extension that allows you to modify & save CSS should work. Personally, I use Stylus for Google Chrome & FireFox, and that's the extension that these codes are written for. Once published, themes are easily accessible, as Stylus automatically searches for any modifications that link back to Lorwolf when you click the Stylus icon followed by the button "Find Styles." If you have any questions about installing themes using Stylus or other extensions, don't hesitate to ask!

▶ CSS Themes ◀

- The following themes are built on Lorwolf's Light Mode and are not compatible with Dark Mode; you'll need to turn the theme off to use Dark Mode. -

▶ How To Install on Stylus

• Once the Stylus extension is installed, click the Stylus icon on your toolbar.

• Click the "Find Styles" button.

• Scroll until you see "Grey Wolf Theme" by Legato, then click "Install."

• Voila!

▶ How To Install on Other Extensions

• Unfortunately, I'm not very familiar with other extensions. If you have a preference for a different extension, let me know & I can upload the code to it!

▶ How To Add Optional Additions & Changes

• For ease of access, this theme comes pre-packaged with a plethora of "Optional Additions & Changes," demonstrated below.

• Click the Stylus icon; next to the theme you want to edit, click the pencil icon. This should open the code in a new tab.

• To turn on any additions you want to use, simply delete the "/" and "*" indicators in front of & behind the code (as seen throughout my sheet).

▶ Quality of Life Adjustments ◀

▶ How To Install on Stylus

• Click the "Find Styles" button.

• Scroll until you see "Optional Additions & Changes" by Legato, then click "Install."

▶ "Forum Banner Pack Shadow" --- Before || After

• Remove the shadowing, or gradient effect, that appears on forum banners in accordance with your pack status.

▶ "Forum Thread Titles (Stickies)" --- Before || After

• Bold stickied forum threads so they stand out more & appear separated from other threads.

▶ "Thread Alignments" --- Before || After

• Center usernames & pronouns underneath avatars and reduce space between titles & ranks.

▶ "Wolf Names" --- Before || After

• Bold wolf names & center them on den profiles (unfortunately creates additional overflow on longer names).

▶ "Den Location Icon" --- Before || After

• Make the Den Location icon easier to spot. On most screens, it now covers the compass.

▶ Visual Bug Fixes ◀

▶ How To Install on Stylus

• Once the Stylus extension is installed, click the Stylus icon on your toolbar.

• Click the "Find Styles" button.

• Scroll until you see "Black Screen of Death - Temp Fix" by Legato, then click "Install."

• Voila!

▶ Important Notes

• This fix allows you to continue as though the bug doesn't exist, but the fix is purely visual. If you turn off the code, the bug will continue until it's fixed by the dev team!

• This bug looks like it's caused by the pop-up modal's dark backdrop not disappearing when the pop-ups do; the dark backdrop is layered overtop everything else, rendering the screen unresponsive.

• This fix lowers the opacity of the backdrop to 0 and changes its position from "fixed" to "relative" so you can still go about your business.

• I still recommend refreshing ever so often so the backdrops have a chance to clear themselves out, even if you can't see them anymore.

Unless anything gets changed in the future, Quiche has confirmed that CSS changes are allowed (as long as it's local and does not globally affect players who don't want it, of course) with Stylus itself being confirmed as permissible, too!
