Has someone else noticed that moonstones prices skyrocketed on Flea Market??? Like it was around 2k pebbles per shard, and now it 4-5k??? And moonstones are 45k???
In the last 2-3 days price are doubled.

I don’t know why they suddenly jumped. My best guess is there were none listed for a minute and someone listed some that high. People bought them and now we’re slowly trickling back down. Just listed some for 43.5k and I think they’ll sell, but I’ll have to go even lower next time.
Have a blue and orange wolf? I might buy it!
Buying MS at 1:30kp 124/600

Player numbers are dwindling, so less people buying/earning MS and pebbles are virtually useless = rising moonstone prices. Far too many basic features and expected upgrades are hidden behind MS paywalls, to the point this game can't fully be considered free to play.
The site desperately needs a rebalance to make sure the primary currency (pebbles) is valued by the players. Moonstones should be a premium for premium services, not for anything worth doing on this site.
It may be that there's not enough people playing. I've noticed a correlation between low player count and the price of moonstones/shards. The fewer people that play, the fewer listings for currency in the FM.
I think another issue is that pebbles are becoming worthless. We need more and more pebbles to exchange for ms because there's no real reason to have pebbles. There are only a few items that need pebbles in the mole market like patterns, and some items that only high level players need, like high level recipes.
Edit: Pretty much what was said above. :)
it's kinda sad that lorwolf had a better economy in beta than it does currently in full release
My puppery! Pure bred G2 bracchus
It's... definitely hella rough right now, I agree, but it's also a cycle. Moonstones are expensive > no one wants to spend them > they become even more rare > if you provide supply, you can set the demand > 1 ms now costs like 50kp because as long as there are people with the funds to drop on that, sellers will go higher until they find the limit > moonstones are even more expensive > people want to spend them even less > now they're even MORE rare > I'm sure you can see where we are repeating this ad nauseum.
And the end result is that barely anyone manages to sell anything aside from the most special greyscale or pastel unbred wild wolf for any amount of moonstones that would let you do anything on here, because so many people are holding on to their moonstones for dear life knowing full well that obtaining them means hours and HOURS of grinding to scrape enough knucklebones together to sell, or get insanely lucky and find that one really sellable wolf in a thousand encounters, or wrestle shards from professions one by one until they can finally craft a single moonstone. Now do that 25 times to be able to mine 5 more ore, or just get a single piece of apparel to make your favourite wolf stand out.
But it's been this way and steadily getting worse for months and we've jumped from 20k to nearly 50k pebbles for one ms within a few days now so honestly? My faith is dwindling so rapidly. I was always thinking "yeah, it's a lot of work to start out, they just need a little longer", but I feel like this is one of the more important features of the site that desperately needs to be addressed and it's been dead in the water since June and declining more and more. But all the updates are mainly hyping the achievement system, so it doesn't feel like this is even seen as a problem at all, let alone an urgent one (the cynic in me wants to say because people are more likely to donate and buy ms with prices that high.....). It's disheartening, to say the least.
And hey. Maybe I'm in the minority with that perspective, but that has been my experience on here in the recent weeks, anyway.
Hopefully the pebble items we've been told that we're getting will come sooner than later. We need them badly.
yes i have noticed and prices of lorwolves are also decreasing, a volmyr used to be 150 MS but now its only one! the market is going haywire
As someone who came into LW in July, so late starter, I ended up liquidating my FR KS familiars and year 1 items to get myself funded and established here. I think it is hurting LW to force upgrades to be MS instead of pebbles, as whales would have sold MS in droves to get pebbles to upgrade, and everyone else would have been on equal footing. It's a big turn off for many new players coming in.
This game improved a lot of things from FR, but FR did their economy right. Exclusive MS items should be special breed changers, genes, apparel and backgrounds, customizers, special companions, and CA (they have got to be making a killing selling those tokens) but the MS upgrades are a huge turn off. My husband and my friend who also play are seriously behind me in their account upgrades (hubby refuses to take MS from me), and they are playing less and less because of it. Waiting for the trickling amount of MS to build up from shard crafting is simply too slow for F2P players. Had LW followed the FR economy model, whales would have still had their incentive to buy loads of MS to trade for pebbles to get those upgrades faster.
Had I not had my FR account to help me, I probably would have gotten discouraged just like my friend and my husband, and not made this my main game (my other main game is Khimeros, and it has taken a backseat lately to this game). I really love this game and want to see it grow, but needing to pay to make the game more convenient and fun will continue to hurt the game in the long run. I heard this was addressed during Beta, and I wish they had listened to that feedback.
Here we are now with a huge imbalance in the economy, and people hoarding MS.
