I'm not even sure if the addition of more pebble items would help, at this point. There's only so much apparel you can have/use and it's all been fairly cheap anyways. Something more drastic needs to happen. Gotta agree with TakeOne, the grind is not worth the reward.

I agree with worms in that I don't think more pebble items would help at this point, based on how the LW devs have approached this issue in the past.

We kind of already know what putting more pebble apparel/familiars on the market will do to the economy. Which is: not much. The pebbles:MS ratio will deflate just slightly for about a week before it inflates again. It happened when they released those overpriced familiars and the pride apparel. But since they didn't release anything after that, it continued to inflate. I remember being skeptical about them because it felt like a bandaid/temporary fix, and hey what do you know that's exactly what happened...

LW either needs to release something MASSIVE for pebbles, like new markings and/or a new breed, or they need to release more pebble content more frequently, which based on their track record, isn't something they can do that well.

They dug themselves into such a hole that isn't all that easy to climb out of, and I'm not really hopeful anymore. :(

More pebble items are always good. It's just the frequency of their release that needs improvement. Also, I totally agree that what we really need is a new pebble breed. It should ideally cost more than the starter breeds (I would say between 500k and 1mil pebbles), and it should be released with its own set of pricier markings, as well.

I feel like it's too late for upgrades to be changed back to pebbles, but they could still add some pebble upgrades that come before the MS ones. (I know this would only create a temporary deflation, but it would be nice to have, since the upgrades originally didn't cost moonstones.)

Personally, I have faith in the devs that they can turn things around. It's just a question of when. But I have a ton of patience and even more curiosity, so I know I'm going to be here for however long to find out. lol

Edit: Slightly wonky grammar.

I'm seeing alot more people selling their KS items and other high value things for other petsite stuff here lately, not the greatest sign honestly.

I really hope the next gene spread and wolf is for pebbles. I like to lean to the optimistic side, but if nothing big comes out pebble wise in the next couple months, it doesn't look too good for the long term future of lorwolfs economy

As optimistic as I'd like to be, with the way things are going I don't have a whole lot of faith. :/ Which is sad, because I see so much here with such potential- but the choices and actions made so far has not exactly given me hope this site will last in the long run, and at this point it feels like anything they try to do now will be too little too late. They have a ridiculous amount of catching up to do just with art additions alone, not even including necessary functions (like a VAULT) or QoL improvements (lookin at you Flea Market sales sidebar thingy which should be its own page, not to mention WOLF LISTING ORDER.).

It's been several months since LW opened and there's been no substantial additions to the site that are not back-end/coding additions. No new apparel sets- and I mean ACTUAL full sets in multiple colors, with one set being available for MS and rest pebbles like they should be for proper balancing- not the pandering band-aids thrown in to quell the discontent. No new gene releases, which since we haven't gotten any apparel sets one would think surely, SURELY then genes are taking priority?? Especially since there aren't any new breeds, either. But... no. I get this is a small team, but there's a time limit to how long the site can go with no true content updates, and at this point we have passed it. We need to have several sets of different site-made apparel, more companions that can compliment existing breeds for the Hunt quests (some of which have NO possible combo to 100%, and honestly could use some rebalancing in general), and several sets of new genes. A breed I can wait for- I get that comes along with a whole set of issues on its own with adding every existing apparel and gene to, so I can wait a little longer for that (but not too long!). But everything else? It's kind of unreasonable at this point that nothing else has been added yet.

If they're going to use the CA's as a crutch to generate cash and relieve their workload as far as apparel, then there's very little excuse for the lack of content being created in other areas. At the very least, release a Base Besprinkler for pebbles to complement the Besprinkler set and give players more customization options and something else to do while we wait who knows how long until real content drops. Throw in a Color Shuffler that rearranges all 5 color slots for pebbles too, and that'll kick up a stir with players trying to fight RNG to get those colors in the places they want on their wolves. At least those consumables will be a highly sought after constant pebble sink, and might help with the inflation a little while giving us something exciting to do in the meantime.

I'd like to see more pebble unlocks in places too like Nests, Apparel Slots, Profession Slots, and Lair Tabs, but I've ceased to throw in my support every time the suggestion comes back up. It's falling on deaf ears, and at this point with how little active players there are (and falling), I'm just trying to gauge when to offload my KS stuff and return to other sites. Which is depressing, because I had such high hopes this could compete with FR. :c

I have an issue with the pattern of overpromising and underdelivering that's been ongoing for a few months now. Promises are made in order to buy more time, and then are not kept. I am going to have trouble believing this team's promises for a while going forward. I'm not saying stop communications, just keep the communication honest.

I'm going to keep my stuff in a state of freeze - I don't believe in liquidating at a low, but it's clear the team bit off more than they can chew and need a lot more time to get things in order.

I agree that things are simply not looking good. Initially when the site opened and the reception was lackluster, I was willing to defend the dev team and say that they simply needed more time. But now there has been too much time passed with basically nothing happening.

What's even stranger is that for pet sites in general, art is one of the last things they fall behind on. Art is very easy to outsource compared to coding and I think LW even hired a few artists? I think if every month, we got 1 pebble apparel set, and a few companions every month, (and 1 pebble marking set every 3-6 months) things would be acceptable. I don't understand why this doesn't seem achievable and why this didn't happen. I'd also be fine if the pebble apparel sets had a moonstone-only color variant. All of the 'bigger' pieces like events and achievement system and new QOL are also MIA right now but having those smaller art related releases would go a long way towards bolstering some faith in the site.

Right now the only thing stopping LW from having the worst site opening is basically DV having like 2 years of complete nothing after beta, but it says a lot that DV had a whole lot of hype despite that. It's not like Dappervolk implemented a vault at launch either (and yes while having a mechanic to basically delete items via transmutation - meaning it was pretty easy to make a mistake and delete your items) but it had vastly more art in the form of clothing and pet species and at least had a new clothing set each month.

It feels like Lorwolf has basically died at this point and it's depressing to see. MS prices are horrendously inflated and everything has ground to a halt.

I can't help but wonder if the devs should've prioritized achievements after the second chapter? Sure, achievements are nice, but they aren't a necessity. If they have been focusing on those instead of QoL or sinks then that might explain why things are taking so long (and gotta wonder how many achievements they're making, if this is true)? There is a possibility the achievements will give pebbles and moonstones, which could be slightly helpful for those who need more, but doesn't fix the problem that we still need pebble sinks.

And this may just be me since I have a hatred of subscriptions, but did anyone else feel off-put by them adding a subscription? Especially so early in LW's life? And given the sub gives 3 MS daily, it seems like all that did was contribute to the inflation...

It is really unfortunate, though, I had hoped this would be a good alternative pet-site to FR. Something to scratch the itch of wanting more while also having its own identity.

@TheStag

It was confirmed when achievements were announced that it'd give MS/pebbles as rewards, and I think the intention with achievements was to give players another way to earn MS to help with profession upgrades, which at the time sounded great! Though, at this point, I'm wondering the same thing. I feel like giving pebbles more of a use to help with the ratio would be better at this stage...
