I've begun to experiments with creating Custom Apparel, and since there don't seem to be many guides on the subject yet, I have a question I think a more experienced CA artist might be able to help me with. More specifically, this question is aimed at people who have made "skin" type custom apparel, aka the type that's meant to look like markings or patterns on the wolf: how do you ensure your markings don't overlap with the base lineart, since CA is layered on top of the base art? I mean, I guess you could go around the template, painstakingly erasing all the parts that would go over the lineart by hand, but I feel like there has to be a simpler and more accurate way to do it using some layering trick or something.
I have some ideas of how I could do it, but I figured I should check and see if someone who already knows what they're doing has a better solution. Also, I should say that I'm using photoshop, so explanations from people who use that or similar programs would be best (though any help is appreciated). Thanks.
