i'm interested in folks' thoughts about something: do you think the request for expansions for mining cart, dens etc. to cost pebbles instead of moonstones, either entirely or at least for the first few expansions of each, is something that could actually happen?

i ask because i've held back on purchasing any in the somewhat desperate hopes it does (except one new den because i eventually desperately needed to make organising my wolves/purchasing new slots easier/cheaper lol), but it's...rough going.

if things are really going to remain the same it's silly to just keep holding back instead making the purchases, but i just really don't want to end up regretting it later on, because if it were ever to happen it's obviously extremely unlikely at best that anyone would get the moonstones they spent refunded.

and maybe it's just me and i suck at the game, but MS really don't feel all that easy to come by when you're playing for free, meaning it would really sting all the more to save up to buy all that stuff only for it to change to pebbles at some point.

so...what do you think?

side note: do the mining and cooking ones still only give four extra spaces like they did in early access, or has the amount increased? if not, that feels way too expensive for what you get! though this could once again be a matter of me just not being that good lol.

Having spent 25 moonstones to increase my mining cart size, I personally don't think it's necessary to swap it to pebbles. (Though I would love to pay for an auto-drop feature). Take it from the perspective of selling pebbles for moonstones on the market- the size increase makes sense: 25 moonstones can equate to around 400k pebbles assuming a 1:16k rate (which can be quite generous for either side of the exchange depending on the day). That's actually quite a great deal for the expansion size you get. I think, if anything, I'd prefer to pay to expand moonstones to add another fishing trip or two to stockpile.

I think the only thing I've found a gripe with in terms of moonstone expansions is cooking (because at 12 individual items that's 12 minutes), but the 1st expansion covers enough to do one run of 10 and 2 runs of 3 if you choose not to stack your activities, so it's not terrible.

The mining expansion gives 5 slots which gives some nice leeway later on.

-looks at the above person- Actually. It was moonstones during both beta tests. I never saw them for pebbles since I didn't play during early access.

But since it's been almost two months, doubtful it's changing. I was never really bothered by it, being used to it being a moonstone price and I never bought any cooking expansions. Don't need to tbh.

I'd love to have expansions be made pebbles, at least for the first one just to make it easier on newbies who can't really farm shards as fast as others can.

I don't, however, think there will actually be a change made. It seems most things regarding moonstones will remain unchanged due to the fact that the site needs funding to run, and it doesn't have the sheer number of daily people like FR to run as many ads on. LW does have a membership, which is absolutely worth it's weight in gold (30 days in a month on average, you get 3 moonstones every day you log in, so every month you get ~90 for $5) but not everyone has a membership, and at least in my experience I was getting absolutely no ads shown to me before I subscribed, so who knows how much revenue is being missed out on there.

Addressing the moonstone thing too? I know achievements will be using moonstones as the reward. It’s mostly the site is just still new.

thanks for all the replies everyone, they've been very helpful! i've both learned some new things and better understand some other stuff, very glad i bit the social anxiety bullet and asked. it also reassured me i'm not just absolutely awful at the game lol.
