I used to care a lot, but then I realised the Lorwolf game I wanted to play focused more on fun pups and breeding and not an arbitrary number of generations. I think an overemphasis on low generation (aka, anything beyond G2 = Trash mentality) is bad for the game.

To me, generation only matters when I'm buying something with the intent of selling it later. I am a fan of G1s because the RNG gamble is fun, but later gens of wolves will actually have the better markings and guaranteed color matching, so I'm way more likely to go for those based on appearance alone. Especially if you want to get a wolf that has one solid color throughout. G2s that have good colors are just a bonus to me. The only wolves in my lair that I could confidently say are G1 or G2 are my progens, a single all-emerald G2 kit, wild wolves, and a G2 bracc I bought, and only then because bracc scrolls are limited. That's it. The other like 60 permawolves are mostly generational mutts, and I like it that way.

A lot less since the breeding demo came out. The only objective advantage of low gens is that you don’t have map out a huge family. That’s not an issue anymore.

If I’m planning on trying to sell the pups I’ll aim for lower gen, but that’s just because I assume other people value that. Vicious cycle?

Generations: I don't care for generations overall. If a pup looks nice, I'll pick 'em up. However, when looking for breeding pairs, I'll double check breeding compatibility through the demo in addition to tracing back the lineage. Even if wolves are accepted in the demo, if I see a match in the lineage that's "close enough," I won't pair them. G2, G3 is extremely helpful when breeding as I don't need to have 25+ tabs open tracing lineage.

Low Numbers: I was in EA and my progen wolf is in the mid-thousands. Focusing on low number wolves reminds me of how I didn't join the KS, when I could have, so it's not a project I'm willing to pick up any time soon.

Double X, Trip X, Quad X: Yes, the more of these I see the more I'll be interested in them. This was something I was interested in FR and as this becomes more available on Lorwolf, depending on generational connections, I will pay higher for double, trips, and quad color matches.

Genes, Color Gradients, interesting patterns: Yes, this is another one of my focuses. I'm a huge fan of stripes at the moment and love little tiger-like pups. Including off-color and fantasy or *sparkle* colored tiger-like pups. This is a thing that will stay in my den long term.

To me generation only matters if I want to do a breeding challenge starting from G1. Other than that I normally buy pups based off their looks, if they make good pups with one of my wolves using the predictor, or if they have the markings I want. If a wolf has 3 of the same markings then I would be willing to pay a little extra (mainly with the stripes, maned, and merle markings) as long as their coloring isn't too crazy.

Since they don't age, I find myself caring more about their appearance and not about their gen.

Not nearly as much as others, unless its for a specific challenge or I need it for lore reason.

If I'm using it for breeding, I prefer g1 or g2. WW are usually ugly, but I enjoy the challenge of finding breeding pairs that make cute puppies. When I can afford to, I plan on throwing besprinklers at all my uglies until I think they look cool.

Outside of my own breeding, I don't really care all that much. Heck, if something is a gift, it can be the ugliest wolf of all and Gen 38573829 and I'll still love it more than my actual pretties

I dont really care, but I kinda prefer if they have a matching family tree line, like if I get a 4Gen pup I would prefer if it had an equal amount of family members on either side of the tree, there's something about symmetry that I like but its not super important unless its like something everyone has said about breeding projects

None at all whatsoever! I kind of resent the fact that it sometimes feels like the community is trying to turn Lorwolf into Wolf Flight Rising, including the Low Gen = Better mentality. If a wolf is pretty and affordable, I'll buy it, and I don't sell my low gens for anything outside the regular price either.
