Hiring Koda is a big improvement and a much needed use for pebbles but I agree more can be done. 60 seconds isn't that long, but to OP's point it's an odd amount of time that breaks the gameplay loop. I personally try to time collecting from Koda at exactly 15 fish so none of his catches are wasted and the rest can count toward the next Activity. It's fine I suppose but I put a lot of thought into figuring out how to manually Fish as little as possible, especially because the Fishing profession is not the best source of fish in the game. Once you reach level 25 and can get the Winter Stream scenario in Icerun 2, you get guaranteed 6 catfish every time. I have hundreds of catfish in my Inventory at all times even when I'm continually cooking and eating them. Why do I need to do Fishing outside of chasing what's on my Activity bar? I don't need to do Fishing is the answer.
So I guess my response here is asking for the Fishing profession to be both more efficient and rewarding. Just because I can get tons of catfish from Icerun doesn't mean that I always want to be in Campaign. We still don't have keyboard controls so I don't always have it in me to grind a zone that has both caves and raspberries (lots of extra wrist movement on those). I'd love a set-it-and-forget-it aspect to Fishing that's different than hiring Koda.
I actually really enjoy fishing as it is, but I also love the idea of a net for crafting the same way that mining has its crafted tools as an alternate way to engage with fishing. Support the addition but not a replacement.
(I feel like there used to be a ripple audio cue, I enjoyed the fishing audio but I don't hear it anymore!)
Support, being able to hire Koda is helpful, but it doesn't tackle the main problem that fishing is boring and doing is a drag. Plus, Koda, as far as I can tell, will only fish in your highest level area, so if you're grinding for specific fish like the one needed for the Icefisher Stork you have to manually fish them
