What's your favourite or goto gene? Can be general or a specific one.

Also, what's the gene you don't want on your wolves?

My general favourite is cozen for their distinct foxyness.

Meanwhile my specific least liked is merle under. It's far too doggy, too domestic a pattern. I didn't come here for dogs, I came for wild wolves.

I love a good timber under. If it's a good color and flows well with the others, I feel it can really tie a design together nicely.

And on the flipside, I'm not too big a fan of the the brush accent. I do a lot of hunting for wild wolves, and it seems that this one pops up a lot and when it does, rng has decided to give me a color that doesn't mix well with the others, so it's very obvious and clashes with the other colors/genes. xD

Personally I'm a big fan of merle and cozen accents, cozen under, and I've recently fallen in love with maned under!

I'm not a huge fan of stripes though - I like it sometimes, but it depends a lot on the colors and other patterns it's combined with. Also sometimes really stripy patterns just make my eyes hurt a little, so that probably contributes lol.

I 100% agree with Phlox regarding stripes! I find that while it can create a really neat effect when done well, I do unfortunately suffer from an astigmatism in both eyes that makes it harder for my eyes to focus on things--especially images & busy designs. There are only a few combinations using the Stripes pattern that I can look at for an extended period of time, as I get chronic headaches within minutes of looking at most things on a screen. So, despite thinking that a lot of the striped wolves I see are really cool, they're also harder for me to look at LOL. I don't think that makes it my least favourite gene, though, since I still want a lot of striped wolves I see despite everything.

That honour has to go to the Maned Under; I think it can look really good when the colours coordinate, but oftentimes my wolves look like they rubbed their faces in dirt, grass, a raspberry bush, or a meaty meal LOL. It almost always clashes with the colours of the Top pattern, too.

My favourite gene is probably the Timber Under because I'm a sucker for anything that gives me that Husky effect.

I love maned under a LOT. It's so subtle and saves a lot of under colors, in conjunction with brush, if the under coat color doesn't 100% fit. It also just stands nicely on it's own.
As far as genes I dislike? I'm not too fond of stripes at all. The top and under look messy and it's difficult for me to make the stripes work sometimes unless the accent is in contrast, or either a lot darker, or a lot lighter.

I love maned everything, especially maned accent (something about the color on the nose is so cute!) and under. They're nice, subtle genes that can look super cool without being too flashy.

I agree with what others have said about stripes, though. When it works it works, but it's really conditional for me and isn't as versatile as the other genes we have so far.

Merle Under is my fave. It's the best. I love that neck marking and the face marking is cute.

Least favourite is probably either cozen accent or merle accent. Merle one's hard to use as a whole (kinda like stripes... with both when they work, they really work, though), cozen's just too... plain and I like more interesting markings, it also feels "unbalanced" to me since it only affects the legs and ears, not even a tail tip.

My favorite combo is stripes top + merle accent, with the right colors it creates a cool effect. My least favorite gene is maned accent. I don't like the paws and snoot, it never matches anything.

I like timber underbelly, I like the little eyebrow dots, I also like brush accent, merle is pretty good but I dont like cozen/mane under. why? because they are so similar, they arent bad per say but why are they so alike, especially with there not being a lot of patterns you can get yet I also am not fond of stripes, only one of the markings is good separately with stripes and I am not sure I am a fan anyway.

I love merle accent, brush accent, and maned accent! Stripes My least favorite as its way too pattern-y for me. I like wild stuff more
