I really love fishing minigames, and I do enjoy this one as well, for the most part.. But I do find it more of a chore to do than the other professions.
My issue is that it doesn’t encourage your attention, it demands it by force. For 1-4 minutes you need to just stare at a single silent image that does nothing for most of that time. Most people would find that extremely boring, it’s like watching paint dry. In other fishing games, even slow paced fishing simulator ones, there’s still the immersion of seeing your character fish, or looking at the environment, taking in the sounds. And even then, the actual catching of a fish is usually what breaks the monotony with a more fast-paced gameplay sequence.
If fishing is meant to be a 1 minute event every 30 minutes, it should be much more… engaging, at least.
