Been thinking about the proposed banking profession, and while it's hard to make solid suggestions with so little info, the description does worry me.
Banking: Become a savvy financier and engage in dynamic item quests. You'll take part in unique missions to collect and manage valuable items. Store your precious belongings in the vault - an isolated storage area to lock away items for safekeeping and collection tracking. As you level up banking, you can unlock even more vault space. How many items from around Loria can you accumulate?I'm not especially fond of the idea that a vault feature will be locked behind a profession (others sharing similar concerns). Nor do I like the idea of vault space being limited. This suggestion is to outline a potential concrete alternative.
Essentially, I would like to suggest changing the banker/vault theming into a curator/gallery theme. The actual gameplay can hypothetically be mostly the same. "Unique missions to collect and manage valuable items" already sounds like it could have a bit of an Indiana Jones vibe to me. And whatever they have planned for "collection tracking" can probably still be part of this profession. The main difference would be that a standard private vault (just storing items to prevent accidental sale/feeding/etc) would simply be a qol feature. Everyone gets it, and it's not tied to any profession. What you DO get from progressing the proposed banking profession is the ability to unlock public gallery slots. Show off your rare items, your massive stockpile of moths, whatever you want.
This feels like it could easily keep the planned vibe and general concept of the profession, but grant a feature that players would more readily accept being locked and limited.
