Not to drag another thread up from the depths, but this is also something that still desperately needs attention. A lot of LW's mechanics boil down to "never use the convenient button because it can inconvenience you much worse if you don't constantly micro-manage it" and I feel like surely that can't be the way they were intended to be?
I've learned to NEVER under any circumstances use the feed all buttons anywhere on the site from listening to everyone else's stories, even when it would be much easier and nicer to do so, because of the not uncommon risk of losing items that are only stocked in the MM. Even though I don't use the buttons, I still check the autofeed button regularly to remove every single item from it. :/ And double check on updates, in case they get added back-- that has happened a few times as items change rarities and get removed/added back.
With a bunch of new recipes added today (although not yet officially announced..) I figured this would be very relevant again. In Dutch we have a saying that a donkey generally doesn't bump itself against the same stone twice, but apparently I am worse than a donkey because, yes, it happened to me again *goes to hide in shame*
Even worse was that my carrots (which I deliberatly do not use for autofeed) were somehow magically set to autofeed again so I wasted a bunch of those as well.
I totally support this. If this isn't done, at least make it so when we auto feed, it pops up what has been chosen to feed and have a confirmations button. That way, if something is in there that shouldn't be/we don't want to feed, we can hit cancel. I still think having new food automatically go to the NOT feed side instead of the DO feed side makes no sense, but if that's not going to be changed, at least give us the option to cancel out of an auto feed.
