I chose banking only because we really need a vault/storage system. :') (Hard agree with not wanting it tied to a profession in the first place, though.)
i picked banking specifically because of it being described as a profession . i personally do not feel much need for a separate vault to use , but it is an easy way to give additional value to items on the site through making them 'mission' objectives .
i could be wrong , but in reading the description , i immediately thought of flightrising hibden slots - which made a lot of items that were previously junk to sell / niche crafting ingredients / personal lore collectibles - generally useful for a wider part of the community . i think this is good for the economy + incentive to do other activities that might otherwise feel a bit pointless .
for instance , i only use crafting to make mining tools at this point . there is not much else i feel worth making or buying recipes for . but bank missions which ask for other craftable items would give reason to craft them and add demand for those items , which creates more incentive to level up crafting and collect more recipes .
i would not argue that banking should be the sole source of value for all items of course . ( in my example , crafting could benefit from more cool apparel and stuff like that to feel worth leveling up towards for its own sake . ) but i think banking missions would be a useful and easy avenue to contribute to variety + value of other parts of the site .
I was looking for it earlier until I realized it didn’t exist. I wish it wasn’t tied to a profession, or if it is I hope it isn’t implemented in a way where I need to upkeep anything to use it…
It was a hard choice, but I chose archaeology! The concept of bones/prehistoric creatures along with new companions was too tempting. There were a lot of good options, though...hopefully they will all be implemented at some point!
