I just realized that you can drop ore from your mining cart. Not only that, but as soon as you do, your wolf automatically begins to mine more ore!

Although my mining level still isn't very high (I'm only at level 21), copper and iron ore have pretty much become useless to me - and copper/iron apparel things still don't seem to be selling for much.

It might take a while, but it seems like I can continue to drop ore until I have a cart full of silver ore and moonstone shards and then smelt everything then.

Is this worth the extra effort, though? Or is there actually some use to the iron and copper ore that I'm dropping that I'm not immediately aware of?

I'd love to hear your thoughts!

@Azure I started doing this too, recently -- it's definitely more tedious, but I think it's absolutely worth it. I have more copper and iron bars than I could ever possibly need, and waiting for your cart to fill up with valuable ores really saves wear and tear on your wheel.

I used to do this myself, but it became too much effort after a while, also think it slowed down the leveling process doing less trips so I just send my wolf back to the furnace now. ^^

@ABird Yeah, seems like it would be worth the time and resources (wheels at least) to go through the ores you mine.

@Azure I've been tossing iron and keeping the copper tbh. i should start doing it the other way around.

@officiallytox What were you keeping the copper for, out of curiosity?

I've been doing this for a while, myself. As ABird says, it saves the wear and tear on the wheels, which seem to wear down faster than pickaxes. I actually found it helped me with levelling a bit faster. However, I think it only helps with levelling, if you're able to babysit the cart often enough, to keep dropping the low level ores as they pop up.

@officiallytox I totally forgot about the mining daily activities! And the fact that different ores smelt at different speeds. That's smart!

@Shadowbanish Interesting! I guess I'll have to see for myself if it helps me level up faster or not, since it seems to vary between users. And I have noticed that I'm replacing wheels more quickly than I'm replacing pickaxes, so if this helps out with that, all the more reason to stick to this strategy. Thank you for your insight!
