Hi! I'd like to have a go at making a CA, but am completely new to digital art and have no idea where to start - I wondered if anyone who has some experience would be able to recommend a program?
Ideally it'd be something free, fairly idiot-proof and has clipping mask (because I don't have much experience with shading).

@Pterolykos medibang is free and fairly easy to use.. there are lots os tutorial videos and things explaining the functions as well

There's a lot of free art programs that use clipping masks. FireAlpaca and Krita come to mind, with FireAlpaca being the "easier" of the two to start off with. Krita is fairly similar to Photoshop, layout wise, and has more features.
