hey peeps!

im fairly new to the game so ive been lurking in the guides section, and i did find a sort-of guide for how to grind for money but the details are really lost on me nonetheless. why are the 4th zones the best to grind in? and what should i sell from the loot i get?

second sword of icerun is where i grind for money. sell all your trinkets. hunting trophies are used for hunting quests but honestly you get so many of those.

For pure money grinding, the 4th areas (except Darkspine, more on that later) have 3 pack mobs and the boss encounters, which can drop high value trinkets frequently. Those trinkets mostly have no uses, making them excellent sell to vendor fodder. The bosses also drop 380 pebbles for every kill, which seems small but over time that adds up. If you grind for extended amounts of time, you'll rack up a lot of the plushies, ambers, etc which sell for a lot to the vendor.

In terms of pure money potential, grinding in Goldsea is most efficient, with Icerun close behind. Murkwood is decent but less than the other two, however it does drop seeds for farming which is a great way to stock up.

You do need specialized teams to take down the bosses consistently though. It is no longer possible to beat them with a single wolf + companion duo, so you'll need specific team layouts that are good at beating them:

(Wolf breed + Wolf breed and Companion + Companion)
Murkwood, Icerun: Kit + Kit OR Jocol and Lunaria + Canictonis
Goldsea: Kit + Kit and Furmus + Furmus
Darkspine: Don't bother*

There is also options using the Krane if you have it, however as it is a Kickstarter companion it is unattainable for most.

*Darkspine's boss has two problems. One: the boss is bugged and does not drop pebbles like the others. Two: the poison output from the boss makes it nearly impossible to counter with a traditional 2 wolf 2 companion set up, making the effort and food needed not worth it.

@Rhulk

thank you, i really appreciate the detailed reply! i didnt know you absolutely need specialized teams so ive been trying to muscle my way through the bosses with a random assortment of wolves+companions.

question though, can you get a lunaria and canictonis in the wild or are they store bought? im not 100% clear on companion acquisition x_x

Companions don't drop from the campaign (except for 4 specific companions that you get as a 1-time quest reward in each area), so you'll either have to buy them from the Mole Market or from the Arena shop. ^ ^

Another good way to grind once you have levelled up enough wolves is the Gauntlet. There is a guide that is helpful with that. I have a goldsea enderling, so I use that with 3 kits and a jocol. All wolves at level 10. I have a friend who doesn't have an enderling, but put in a zerda instead and consistently gets to level 9 or 10 with that team. So it can add up as well.
