When I cooked food for my wolves and then collected it I briefly saw a +1 moonstone float up, as if I had gained one.

However I did not. What is that about? I didn't know you even got things other than the food,exp,and maybe a moonstone shard when you cook.

Have you crafted/earned moonstone from a sale recentlyish? If you did and had things open in other tabs, then it will update the tab showing the +gain for whatever currency was gained in a previous/older page.

This happens when you earn something in another tab. The other pages will "update" visually like that with the amounts you gained on another tab if they're not accurate.

Say, I made some moonstones in crafting and collected them. If I had another tab open and moved pages in that tab, the moonstone count will update like that to the new number that next page. Does it with pebbles too, I'll see other tabs update with "+300 pebbles" or something if I completed activities in a different tab.

You get shards from cooking, not full moonstones. The shards need to be crafted into moonstones before they show on your regular currency panel. ^-^
