Oh gosh, after reading this I realized that LW is the reason my browser tabs have been unresponsive a lot lately, and just yesterday it made my laptop BSOD (omg :o)

I don't know much about code, but obviously the LW team has an obligation to optimize their code.

no wonder my laptop has been throwing fits and slowing down whenever I have Twitch and Lorwolf open at the same time... Twitch takes a fraction of the memory LW uses!

Changed to dark mode the moment I saw this lol. Massive support. LW is yet to crash for me, but sometimes WW grinding and arena really slows down my laptop for short periods, and that isn't great.

There's animated clouds? Are these just not visible on mobile? I switched to desktop mode after reading that but still can't see them. Tried a different browser but that also didn't fix it. Can anyone give me a screenshot of what those look like? I'm just curious.

Full support, by the way. I don't really have anything to add besides that. I've personally never experienced issues while using the site (solely on mobile) but I can understand why others might.

Yeah, the clouds aren't visible on mobile. The site is dynamic and will change depending on your screen/window size, so changing it to desktop mode won't do anything because it'll see your window size is still small like a mobile device, and therefore will shape itself into mobile mode. Sometimes I'll shrink my window down (on desktop) too small that it triggers mobile mode, lol.

Here's a 10 second gif of what the clouds look like. Note that while I was switched to light mode and recording this, my fans started to get louder and OBS crashed, lol.

I tried switching to dark mode to see if I'd get better performance. Didn't really notice a huge difference but I did notice that sometimes if my internet connection is laggy, I'd see the clouds load up for a second before the stars popped in. Never lasted long enough to see if the clouds were still moving.

I can't really read code. Are you able to see if the clouds are still going in the background even in dark mode?

The day mode is the site's default appearance/stylesheet, so while the site is still trying to load, this will actually be loaded first. If you have a fast connection you might not notice, but if your connection is slower, you might see this for a second, since the switch is through javascript and it has to be loaded to check and then make the switch to dark mode. The clouds however are replaced completely once it switches to dark mode.

On this note, however, as I was talking this out with UwU, we both noticed that clouds are now CSS animations and are no longer on an HTML5 canvas. This is great news, as it will definitely help performance, but I'm very confused as to why this wasn't disclosed anywhere in the patch notes... Hmm... well, time to update the OP, I guess.

Support! This site being unoptimized explains why my computer (which typically handles 40+ tabs w/o a fuss/delay of any kind) is suddenly throwing a fit. Some form of optimization would be very helpful. :)

LW reallyyyyyyyyy bogs down my laptop.. the multiple restarts needed because of LW every day are frustrating (if i dont use LW, i dont have to restart for days!)

I haven't experienced this problem, but I know it's very slow. As someone who plays the Fishing game on my phone (because the monotony is intollerable to sit through staring at a giant puddle, at least for me, the smaller screen area is more comfortable) I'd love if it ate less data.

Generally speaking, efficient code and putting the brunt of the work on the server instead of the users would be a great benefit to everyone involved. Plus, it'd better justify the amount of money going into the site from moonstones. I'd consider buying moonstones if it meant the brunt of loading was taken off all the individual users.
