Hello and welcome back to another Kickstarter news update! This week, we wanted to highlight a few more of our unlocked stretch goals and go over how some of those features will work in the game. Enjoy!
Up next is the stretch goal that was unlocked at $4,500 - the new Zerda breed! Every backer of our Kickstarter will receive 1 free Zerda breed change item. Unlike the KS exclusive Bracchus breed, this item is not exclusive and can be purchased in game by all players. Here is a sketch concept of how we imagine this breed might look:
This breed is modeled after the adorable Fennec fox! Like the Fennec fox, the Zerda is considered the smallest of the wolves in Loria and is distinguished by their large, hyper-sensitive ears.
The Cooking mini-game was unlocked at $5,000 and will let players “upgrade” their food items. This feature adds another dimension to food items within the game by allowing players to cook meat, bake pies and cakes, or combine multiple ingredients to create even more effective food types!
Food plays a very important role within Lorwolf. Every action depletes a wolf’s stamina bar, so players must carefully manage their food stores in order to do most activities in the game. Cooking will be the only way to upgrade raw food items so they become more effective in keeping your wolves full. Players must experiment with different combinations of ingredients to discover new recipes! A friendly NPC will handle all cooking for your wolves - simply give them the ingredients and they will have your meal cooked and ready to eat after a short period of time!
It is also important to note that stamina regenerates over time, so you never have to worry about your wolves going hungry while you are away!
The last of our initial stretch goals was met at $6,000 and unlocked the Weekly Events feature - which will involve a weekly rotating shop where players can purchase themed items in exchange for that shop’s special currency.
This special currency is awarded by completing activities. During a weekly event, the first 10 activities a player completes in a day will award that week’s special currency instead of the game’s regular currency. For example, the “Explore” activity shown below will award 1 event currency instead of 100 gold. After completing the first 10 activities for the day, players can continue completing activities as usual but will gradually earn less event currency.
We hope you’ve enjoyed this look at some of our Kickstarter stretch goals. There are only a few days left in our KS campaign and one final stretch goal to meet - Farming! Please let us know if you have any questions about these features! Moonsblessings, JimJim and Alaunis <3
