I think Lorwolf has enormous potential and a lot of good going for it. The fact that the gameplay loop is already satisfying, Custom Apparel is already implemented, and that all of these things come with a casual-leaning pet sim system with no pet death is a bigger deal than people give credit for. LW is definitely a leg up from DV when it comes to addressing criticism, and a huge leg up from FR in terms of early-launch game performance. While people are right to compare games when it comes to which is the most enjoyable use of their limited time, LW is still factually further along than those games were at the same point in their development.
Yet if there is no significant rebalance for pebbles and moonstones, nor accounting for the fact that not everyone can grind excessively, LW's going to really struggle. At the end of the day, the choice to spend money or multiple hours per day on a pet sim should be left to the individual. When they become mandatory to make any game progress, you're going to lose a lot of players. I feel like a lot of people are in the phase of giving Lorwolf a shot because of how new it is, but are very likely to leave if concerns aren't addressed. I am definitely cautiously optimistic for the June update, (Apparently it will be addressing currency issues) and a lot is riding on it if that's the case.
