Just an FYI, but the patch notes were actually changed to be locked specifically to accommodate player feedback. For whatever reason, people were loudly and aggressively upset that they couldn't see every single thing the devs were doing in real-time. Creating an entire dev tracker system is obviously what should not be a top priority, and making a new thread every single time anything was changed would be silly, so they opted instead to lock the posts so that the threads can have any small updates added where they're visible. Just wanted to give context because unless you happened to be around and also saw the thread(s) it's a decision that doesn't seem to make sense and can definitely come off weird lol

Overall, I think the future of LW is bright! It already has an impressive spread of mechanics, far more than other similar games (cough FR cough) did at launch. The gameplay loop- what makes or breaks longterm success- is fantastic; it engages me in a way that no other site has been able to. The team has a clear direction, and has already shown that they can actually take steps to execute their goals. I've also appreciated that while they clearly listen to feedback, they also don't cave to player fears and choose short-term gratification over the long-term goals/success of the site. For a site built by such a small team, it's honestly incredibly impressive how much LW already has and has already added/changed since launch.
For the economy, I'm still really confused why people keep saying it's “broken”. It's working just fine?? And in any case, the only thing that brings down the price of MS are pebbles sinks, which are things like items/companions/breeds/patterns... which take time to make. We don't have a ton of pebble sinks because the game isn't even 8 weeks old. I think everyone should just take some deep breaths, calm down, and let the LW team go to work. The griping about profession expansions being MS also comes off as entitled to me; it's OK to not be able to buy everything right away, it's healthy for the site to implement some long(er)-term goals. Even if they were for pebbles it would not be a sink, because there are a finite number of expansions anyways.
For anyone still concerned about the economy, remember when everyone was complaining that wolves were “too expensive” and “totally unaffordable for any F2P players”, and thought that something should change because the game was unplayable and broken? Guess what, all of that was just a temporary effect of the game being new, and thus having limited supply of pets. When the game gets older, and the supply of currency also grows, that is when you can start to make claims about the economy.
