I don't like the ‘pure’ term because of dealing with it on FR and its negative history from there. And as people mentioned--parents can morph into something else down the line.

I can understand wanting “pure” generations (g1+g1 / g2+g2) since it makes lineages easier to parse, but I wouldn't really understand why someone would want a “pure” breed linage for a wolf outside of lore reasons. It doesn't really impact a wolf in any tangible way WRT breeding so… why bother? But if people are managing to make a quick buck off of them, well best of luck to them.

I think this is a game that can be played lots of ways! It sounds like a fun challenge to undertake. I personally wouldn't pay any extra for a ‘purebred’ puppy, especially since it is so easy to change breeds, expect maybe for Bracchus - just because less people will want to change them.

personally, I don't care if a pup is “pure” or not.

I think there are Six types of pure:

1.Gen 1/Gen 1
2.(all parents are first generation)Gen 2/Gen 2
3.Gen 1 bracchus/Gen 1 Bracchus
4.(all parents are first gen and bracchus) Gen2/Gen 2
5.Special Lineage/Special Lineage
6. All one breed all the way down
7.No related wolves in Lineage

For types 1 and 2, purity matters most if you plan on doing a lot of breeding/wanting to create puppery pairs and don't want to risk inbreeding ruining your pairs.
Type 3 is the most important type because Bracchus scrolls are kickstarter exclusive, having both parents be Bracchus will be the closest thing to owning a gen 1 Bracchus
Type 4 is a combination of types ½ and 3, Although I don't know how relevant pure g2 pairs will be
Type 5 can be very lucrative, but is mostly community driven. Examples being a glitched lineages like Naomi, wolves bred from different inactive pairs (Mainly from gen 1 bracchus), offspring of certain id's( 666, 777 ect)subspecies ,ect
Lastly type 6 is one breed all the way down. This one won't mean much to most people, but can be a fun project to work towards, especially if you can do it without inbreeding, but must be self contained in your lair to not risk impurities. Fun if you are doing a royalty lineage project

Edit:I forgot about the 7th type of pure: no related wolves in lineage(Example: no circle backs to previous members in the lineage), very similar to type 6, other than for fun personal lineage projects, I don't think this one matters to most people
