If for whatever reason a rotating pool can't work, at least don't have us voting in the same pool as the wolf we submitted. And the not linking to profiles to avoid bias that luke mentioned above is a fantastic idea.

I've been genuine in trying to vote for who I like best but.... I am tempted to just try and play it smart.

No support from me. I deliberately vote for wolves with little or no apparel. Not because i want to up my own chances but 1. the prejudice regarding naked wolves makes it impossible for those who cant afford CA to win (And in doing so miss out on precious MS shards) and 2. I like less clutter. I enjoy seeing the natural beauty of wolves.

it ia already downright impossible to win or place without fancy apparel, and this change would only make it worse. honestly what is wrong with naked wolves? what is wrong with affordable site apparel? why aren't they allowed to win and feel their wolves are appreciated and get some extra shards?

I've said it during beta and ea and I will say it again; I do not like the pageant at all, I feel it is toxic and elitist and it is very discouraging when what you think it is your prettiest wolf never ever even places.

Id much rather the pageant is separate from the daily login rewards and winning doesn't earn anything either. make it like FRs weekly dragon share or something, optional to join and no harm or reward if you win or not

@Gaia I wouldn't say impossible, most of the wolves that win/place in the pageants I've been have had site or even no apparel

While I agree as well with what Luke said regarding not linking back to the den in order to reduce bias, I also want to bring up that I find CA that interests me THROUGH pageant votes, and linking back to them in order to see what CA they are wearing is pretty important in that regard.

My ideal Pageant setup would be like OP suggested; you are voting on a grouping of wolves that does not contain your own. As Luke suggested; the wolves don't link to their profiles to keep the user who submitted them anonymous. And my personal addition; hovering over the wolf displays all icons of apparel that is in use.

Because only wolves with CA winning was brought up, I want to mention there is a lorwolf discussion thread on that subject, and many people pointed out that wolves without any apparel, or only cheap pebble apparel + starter genes and breed, still win often. That's been very often in the pageants I've been in, and I've even won 1st that way with a starter wolf breed with starter genes and just a scarf and flowers. It seems to me that there are plenty of people that are also focusing on just wolf color palettes rather than just decor, and it's down to the luck of who gets to vote.

Maybe there could be two versions of the pageant--with apparel, and without apparel, and people get the choice to enter into one or the other.

Personally I think competition is fun, and it's a cool way to see what is possible and the creativity people have. I don't mind it even just not rewarding shards, if it makes people more comfortable with just not competing if they do not want to.

Bump + support! I really like this concept and I think it will make the pageant system better. I didn't even consciously realize that the system incentivizes you not to vote for the wolves you think are best.
