I find it kind of odd that you can't apply gene changes to puppies at all. I bought a gene change recently and just realized I have to wait for the puppy to grow up to apply it, which is a little annoying. I'm not sure if this is the same case for things like sex swaps either, but I think it'd be a good convenience thing to allow these changes to be made to puppies because I don't really see a reason to make waiting for adulthood necessary.

I was not able to do a sex swap on a puppy in beta so I assume it's still like that. Annoying since it doesn't even change the art!

But yeah, support. Shouldn't have to wait a week to do changes to a puppy. And I can't see any reason why they can't have changes before adulthood anyways?

This seems like it will become an even bigger issue if someone uses a perma-puppy totem on an unfinished project before finding out that they cant use the new genes on them unless they spend an extra 55ms to change them to an adult and back. I would go so far as to say that this would make it a bug that needs fixing, rather than a QoL suggestion.

Support, please, this is soooo frustrating. I understand it's how the site is coded, but it's worth revisiting how this is coded because being unable to do anything with a puppy for seven entire days is frustrating.

to address minim's concern, since pups can't be altered at all, it's safe to assume you cannot perma a puppy itself and need to wait until it's an adult to use the item-- however people who do this FIRST before changing the puppy would likely need to redo the entire process. its expensive to do all that.
