It was brought up back in beta and EA how people would like a way to specifically play their friends, and while the game is small, you can just hop in queue at the same time, but it's not guaranteed. If just one too many people joins queue at the same time, you can end up in different match lobbies. This will only get harder as the game grows. Being able to create a lobby also gives many possibilities for players. Users can battle specific friends, they can create a lobby with really good or experienced players for a challenge, newbies or less knowledgeable players can create beginner lobbies. We can even have player organized tournaments. There are so many ways it could be used.
I suggest that on the arena page, we have a few options. One to create a lobby, which would generate a code you can share with people to be able to join. From there, it would have a lobby list of players that have joined and a ‘start match’ button. Any spaces not filled would auto fill with bots, same as in a normal lobby. Another option would be to join a lobby, where you can enter a code from a created lobby. And the last option be to spectate matches, where there would be a list of matches to choose from that you can spectate.
I understand these things would require some work and additional features but I do think they're important for the site and arena in general. It would help the arena community and add a lot of variety for people between friends, creation of events, and hopefully it shouldn't take too much work. Most simple games have the ability to create some kind of room so I hope LW can too.
