So I hit the fifty slot max for my first den, and it still gives me the “purchase slots” option with a price included. But yet, when I go click “purchase” it says I am maxed.
That's misleading. Either remove the option entirely when you hit the max, or have the “purchase slots”, when clicked, tell you when you are maxed instead of giving a price to purchase another slot when you can't.
