So you might be asking, "A guide for the fishing minigame? Isn't it just clicking?" and yeah, fishing in lorwolf is pretty straightforward. However! One notorious thing about me is that I will turn any game with a fishing mechanic into my own personal fishing simulator. I get way too into it, no matter how simple the minigame may be. As a result, I figured I'd provide my tips and tricks for efficient fishing in Lorwolf here, alongside relevant information like drops.
(this post is currently under construction; I'll be adding a lot of images and doing some minor coding over the next little while so if you're seeing this and it's newly posted, that's why it looks a little sparse).
Basic Information
Fishing requires 1 wolf to be assigned to it (if you want, this can be the same wolf as the one assigned to mining. Double-assigning a wolf doesn't cause any problems other than that wolf running out of energy more often). Every fishing trip consumes 25 energy. Each time you fish, you use up a fishing trip. You can store up to 4 fishing trips, and any time you have less than four, a new trip will refresh every thirty minutes. Once you reach 0, you'll need to wait before you can go fishing again.
Leveling
Your level determines where you can fish. You start at level 1, with only “Peaceful Pond” available, but the fishing screen shows four fishing locations and the levels required to unlock them. “Backwoods Brook” unlocks at Level 12, “Frozen Fjord” unlocks at level 35, and “Open Ocean” unlocks at level 50. Off of the fishing page, there is also “Winter Stream,” which can be encountered in Windborne's Retreat on the Icerun explore map at level 20, and the “Icefisher Stork” encounter in The Black Hills of Icerun at level 35. Leveling also seems to affect the number of fish you can catch, but only in a very limited sense. At level 1, I only saw 8 “splashes” per fishing trip. After level 2, Peaceful Pond will give 10 splashes consistently. However, so far, Level does not appear to have any other impact of fish yields. Personally I am only at level 13, so if anyone knows more about this, please correct me!
You gain fishing experience through, well, fishing. More specifically, you gain 2xp per any item or fish caught.
Fishing Locations & Drops
So far, it appears that all fishing locations share a non-fish item pool, but that each location has a unique selection of fish. Also, I suspect that the trinket drops might rotate based on day or time, since I tend to get a lot of Nytha Spines at once, or a lot of Basidio Spores at once, over multiple trips, and I have never seen a Nytha Spine drop at the same time as a Basidio Spores, for example. If I figure out the pattern, or if someone else knows it, I'll post it here. Note: I do not know the mechanics of the fishing locations in Icerun. this may not hold true for those 2 spots.

Strategy & Efficiency
Fishing in Lorwolf is by no means difficult if you have decent reflexes and eyesight. However, if you're like me, your eyes hate you and timers stress you out. To help fix those problems, I present some basic tips and tricks to make clicking on pngs easier than ever before! First: each fishing location has a few designated “bite spots.” the splashes will only ever appear on those bite spots, helping you know where to focus your eyes and where to anticipate clicking. Secondly, each fishing location will always give you the same number or splashes, and therefore potential catches, per trip. This means your catch isn't actually very dependent on the timer. You can ignore it. In fact, you should ignore it, so that your eyes can always be staring blankly at the screen waiting for splashes. Third, if you're having a lot of trouble playing the game on a laptop or computer, consider using your phone. If you have a glitchy mouse or if you're struggling to click with a trackpad but you want to get the maximum catch every time, switching to mobile might be a viable choice. The game is pretty much the same, but instead of fighting your PC, you can just move your finger a few inches whenever a splash occurs. (Additional Note: currently I'm having some issues with the splash animations where the animations are jagged/laggy and just flicker through one or two frames instead of performing the full animation. Switching to mobile has not reliably fixed this for me, so if you also have this issue uh… we're in it together I guess? It might just be my internet that causes this though).
Peaceful Pond
Peaceful Pond is the first fishing location & the easiest. It only has three bite spots, and it's very forgiving in terms of reaction time. After level 2, the Pond will always give you 10 splashes. As you can see, the bite spots are arranged in a basic triangle. I usually rest my cursor in the middle of all of them, but in this pond it doesn't really matter too much due to how forgiving it is, so unless you have a really bad reaction time or a really annoying mouse/trackpad, you can keep your cursor wherever and be fine. It's important to note that occasionally on all ponds, two splashes will occur at the same time at two different bite spots. You can click both, one after the other. Additionally, sometimes a splash will occur in the same bite spot right after you catch a fish/item, so be on the lookout for that.
Backwoods Brook
Backwoods Brook is the second fishing location, with five bite spots arranged in what I like to think of as a “butterfly” pattern. It will give you 13 splashes consistently. I tend to rest my cursor at the “head” of the butterfly, in the central top bite spot.
