I'm pretty sure over on Wajas something like this exists, but I think it's something that could be helpful here. Open up applications for Quality Assistance Testers. Before new features are added, give them out to specific users to stress test. So we can test out features before they are implemented into the general public. I'm not exactly sure how it would work for the coding aspect. Or even keeping users from spilling info about the new features maybe an NDA is needed I don't know. But this would help prevent the backlash like there was today with the wild wolf tokens. The Quality Assistance would be entirely voluntary.
Another problem I could see is these users gaining access to things before everyone else, I'm not sure how to get around that but possibly when you apply for QA you need to read and understand that any items implemented from QA are subject to be removed or changed from your account. But I think this would give some ease to the devs by having multiple eyes and opinions on new features.
