Things others have said that I agree with
- Info should be fully available on-site, not just on discord. I hate using super active discords, they make me anxious.
- Patchnote page updates as changes are made to keep players informed and prevent mistaken bug reports as well as other small, continous communications.
- Moonstones either need less sinks (for example, the expansions) or need more availability to casual players (via professions) and as things get added into the game, more pebble sinks should be introduced.
- The food debuffs in the campaign are way too punishing, especially to casual players.
- The arena takes too long for the small rewards it gives (particulary if you are losing to a lobby of bots which you have to wait for to collect your rewards).
Some of my own thoughts:
I desperately want Lorwolf to succeed. I love the wolves and I love petsites. I enjoy drawing wolves way more than FR dragons since they are less complex in design. I recently bought a bracchus scroll for 42kg but I am genuinely having to consider reselling it rather than using it because I have no confidence in Lorwolf's survival. 42kg is more than I have ever spent on one single thing on Flight Rising and that's not a nice thought, considering the lack of consistent communication, lack of attention to the players wants and needs (I'm refering to the original KBT choice before changes were made), and moonstone imbalance, which is scaring people away. Something needs to change or something will snap. All the players want is some consistency in how and what they are told so the site feels more reliable.
I don't really know how to phrase this but Wild Wolves feel unbalanced? It's like the devs want wild wolves to be valuable but a generated wild wolf's value hinges entirely on its appearance and good looking WWs are RARE because of the five colour system. Wild wolves, for this reason, should be very easy to generate, but they aren't.
I really wish that the KBT could be exchanged for an on-command generation of 1 WW. It should be a crafted item with a pre-owned recipe rather than a hunt which takes time to find and then time to complete. I like 15kp cost but the fact that it requires 50 KBT AND the hunt as well is a problem. Either make it 50 KBT only or make it like 15-20 KBT with 15kp. Or make an on-command item for WWs cost the 15kp to craft but make the hunt free.
Something like that to just make it more fair for casual players to generate WWs. 50 KBT just feels like too much now that I have had the chance to grind. I've heard the phrase ‘full-time job’ when referring to WW grinding and its not really an exaggeration. It's not hard to find WWs, it just takes too much time for the value they provide, and yet they're one of the only ways for me as a casual-ish player to get moonstones so I feel pressured to keep grinding anyway. I quite like grinding for WWs but I can aknowledge that it isn't as rewarding as it should be.
Also, the besprinkler is not of equal value to Flight Rising's Tricolor Scatterscroll because it's harder to get 5 matchy colours than 3 of them, but it has the same price tag as it. It really needs a tweak to be a little lower. Maybe 15-25ms.
But first and foremost, before all these updates and changes can occur, we need consistent communication. Tell us when something updates and what was updated. Update the Howl Hub with patchnotes. Tell us what you're planning next so we can give related pointers. Make a habit of communication and stick to it. We want to tell you what we do and don't like to help improve the site and yet with so little in the way of verbal updates and the KBT misfire we worry that we aren't being heard and that there isn't any direction. Please show us that we're wrong! We want to be wrong and to know that we need communication from the devs!
