I have been struggling with these giant gaps between sections of my post, and I don't understand what causes them or how to remove them.

I think it has to do with whether or not I press shift-enter when creating a new line. When I don't do that, it seems to make a huge gap. It's not consistent though, so idk. Editing with the source doesn't seem to change it, so I am not sure how anyone is able to format anything with this issue. ^^;

I thought it was just the br breaks, but removing those completely removes any space at all between the lines. I want it to be the title, an empty new line, and then the rest of the text. Not title, followed by 5 empty lines, then the rest of the text. Nothing I do seems to change anything, so I am confused on what I am missing?

edit, lol it happened with this post too. My first sentence is way spaced out from the rest of the text.

it seems to be related to pressing shift+enter. only pressing enter when creating a new line wont give you the massive gap. suppose this can be a temporary fix to the problem lol

@monarch Hah, I guess it figured that I had it backwards. Thanks for the help! Sadly, somehow, even going back into a post and deleting space, then doing it again the correct way, still doesn't fix the issue. xD Best I can manage is this, image for documentation sake:

I'd still rather they not have any space between them, but this is definitely better than before ahaha

you can just press enter on the first line and shift+enter on the rest, it wont affect the “weird-massive-gap-thing”
if you prefer the names to not have space between em

@monarch oooooo I see. Huh, I wish I could get it to work like that reliably! Part of me thinks it only works like that on fresh posts and not edited ones, but that doesn't make programmatic sense lol. Ah well, still thank you!
