I casually play Flight Rising, and heard about Lorwolf there.

My starters are themed of cherry blossoms, and their names are song titles by my favorite musical artist. I decided that the male is the leader in title - he tries his best - but the female is the one who usually ends up having to actually deal with most situations.

I do have one question. When I Like Giants goes to nest, will she become unavailable to do tasks? I just want to prepare if that's the case.

To answer your question, no, your wolf won't be unavailable! Every wolf can do any task regardless of their expecting/labor status or not.
