Flea Market Breeding Cooldown When Nothing Happened

I was trying to stud a wolf out for a friend to line up when their wolf was ready. Turns out it was an hour too early, so I took the wolf off the market so he wouldn't end up on cooldown. However, even though nothing happened, he is now on a nine day cooldown for the act of putting him up there an hour too soon.

I'm genuinely very irritated about this. To add insult to injury, there is no text in the tutorial, or a warning when you put a stud on the FM up that says “Hey, if you put them up, they will be on cooldown whether or not anything happens”.

Is there a good reason to penalize players this way? This seriously needs to be looked into.

I've been through this too, I'm not sure if this should a bug, I feel it should be more of a suggestion? But it definitely needs to be improved!!!

This cooldown is meaningless except a waste of time, and as Asanimus said, there are no reminder or warning at all.

I wanted to put one of my wolf for sale at FM this morning, but accidentally chose Stud, and when I canceled it, this cooldown came up and now I have to keep it in my den until I can sell it again.

Yup, this is a thing! The cooldown activates at the time of listing, not at the time of breeding. I asked about it in the discord and they said that's how the site was coded but did not confirm if it was intentional or not.

I listed this wolf for stud but then decided to change something, so I took his listing down.

I can't do anything with him now for days and he didn't even breed.

Regardless of whether it's a bug or intentional, it really needs to be changed. There is so much room for error in the process so in a lot of cases, wolves will be put on cooldown when they didn't breed. Even if we don't make any mistakes, listings that don't sell for any reason are still subject to this, so it's not even worth it to try listing a wolf for stud without a prior arrangement.

The triggering of the cooldown needs to happen at time of breeding. If site code doesn't allow for that, then we need private studding features so we can advertise our wolves ourselves, arrange breedings, and carry them out securely with specific users so that the activated cooldown serves its purpose.

The same has happened to me. I don't have anything to add about the situation, it's all been the same for me, but I am extremely displeased at this. It makes no sense for a wolf to be resting when they haven't actually done anything, and if I decided I wanted to breed the wolf that I had taken off the market myself, it would have to wait a week. That's ridiculous. PLEASE fix this.

This has also happened to me. I listed a wolf for stud, listing expired with no buyer, he is now on cooldown. Now, I don't know much about game design, but I do know that this needs to be changed ASAP. The same thing happens when clicking “start breeding” on the males' page. Even if you do not go through with the breeding, the male will be on cooldown. HOWEVER, this does not happen vise-versa. When clicking “start breeding” on a females page you are able to view the pups and cancel with neither male nor female wolves being on cooldown. If this is not a bug, why has it not been addressed? Make it make sense

Also having this issue. Delisted my stud to lower the price, only to find he's on cooldown without having been bred. :(

Bumping this again because I'm very frustrated.

I had a male wolf on the FM for a few days and I decided I wanted to adjust his price. I took him off the market and put him back up. I put him up for stud by accident. I was moving quickly and the sale/stud options look identical unless you're reading closely every time. So I took him down from that listing too but of course his cooldown has been activated. And now I can't even list him for sale because we can't sell wolves on cooldown. I understand why we can't sell wolves on cooldown (a buyer may not be able to tell if its been bred recently otherwise), but gosh. This is so so so frustrating. Please fix the fake cooldown that's activated on the Flea Market.

Bumping this one as well. Just experienced this after the breeding didn't sell. This feels like a punishment for simply having bad luck or wanting to adjust the listing.
