It seems I need a wheel and pickaxe to mine. But in order to craft these, I need copper… which you get by mining?

Not sure I understand it.

My question is - how do I get copper without having any tools? Any help appreciated :)

This confused me too at first, but you do not actually need a wheel and pickaxe to mine. The mining process will just go a lot slower without them!

But once you've made some trips and created copper bars, you'll be able to start crafting them. :)

I think what also confused me is I was in the ‘Furnace’ section and nothing was happening - now I just clicked on the Lucid Lagoon and.. I think something is happening. Do I just wait now? When will it end

you have to wait until it's done in Lucid Lagoon, then go back to the Furnace and wait for that to finish to claim your rewards! it's a little counterintuitive, but basically what you're doing is:

• go to a location
• mine for ore
• return to the furnace
• smelt the ore you gathered
• collect rewards, go to a location again

the bolded text is stuff that happens after you click on a thing other than the furnace, the italicized text is what happens after you click on the Furnace. you can either collect rewards manually or have the game collect them automatically when you click on another location.
