I'm going to start trying to make some all wolf builds. First off I'm going to see if 3 zerda 2 kit can get anywhere decent since that will do no healing as well.
(I think this build might need three zerda as two will not give the support synergy and three kit do not gain an extra tactician.)
Putting one zerda and one kit in the frontline, the rest in the backline.
- synergy is 2 protector, one support, and one tactician.
so build is one zerda and one kit in the frontline. two zerda and one kit in the backline.
edit: first run got to level 11 but failed there (it started to struggle around level 9)
- I knew I should have stopped after level 10 but I got too curious.
- level 10 took 12 rounds to win so this will encounter a damage wall.
feeding this party afterwards took 20 fish, 5 cabbages and 5 glowing mushrooms so either I would not do this unless you have a lot of food, or do this a few times a day so the wolves recover over time.
second run failed at level 10. (I'll run again later + edit my information.)
edit:
3rd run failed at level 11.
4th run failed at level 11 as well
my guess at this point is that this comp can't pass level 11.
I'm using Kit/Jocol/Grouger/Kit/Krane in the new Icerun Trials and it's working well- got up to level 16 before I failed and then I tried again and won. Might try out some other builds from this guide to see if they work better. I only just got the Icefisher Stork so I haven't battled with it much.
Edit: stalled again at level 21. Not bad! It looks like each level doesn't have set synergies, which is annoying for consistency in picking a new build. Ah well.

I didnt see this listed any where but I learned about this team from the icerun arena event and it also slays in gauntlet
Front: Kit, Kit
@Lord I don't know if you're testing yet with dore wolves but I can get reliably to 14/15 with this comp. Actually wondering if DWs with jocol healers are a viable comp. The DWs destroyed whole rows of enemies even on lvl 10+ with crits and that was even facing poison comps.
It was a string of crits that took out the varani and kit on that last level, they fared very well before that.
Selling Ace flag wolves! Bargain price!
@Vyler - Man, I have been crunching this team for weeks trying to make progress on my Gauntlet achievements and I can't ever get past 16. (Except for maybe once? I think I died at level 17, but I can't remember-) I can only average level 14 or 15, 16 at the highest, 11 at the lowest (and some really unlucky losses under level 10).
I definitely wanna try this team during the next seasonal gauntlet, but I'm having the absolute worst RNG, I swear- I'm gonna have to try to go back to using Varanis and Jocols or something, RIP.
EDIT: This just in, I'm the biggest dingus on the site. I realized one month later that I somehow saw the Kit formation and my mind read it as Zerda. . . I was failing to get far because I was using the wrong foxes. Holy mother of Loria. . .
Tried the CORRECT Kit, Kit, Snowloon, Jocol, Thrasher combination and got to 24 on my first try. So yup. This is the best build I've found so far. It'll work wonders for anyone whose reading comprehension isn't completely abysmal.
I just managed to beat level 20 with a team of:
Direwolf, Kickstarter Krane
Bracchus, Crested Snowloon, Bracchus
One of them was even dead
at the beginning of round 20!
I didn't actually think they'd be able to beat
that round, I just tried it in hopes that it would still count for the achievement, even if they lost on level 20, so imagine my surpise when they actually did it. I did, however, not even try to beat level 21. xP
Getting this far was definitely just extremely lucky. Most of the time this
team gets to around level 14-16.
I still thought I'd share
it since it apparently has the potential to get further.
One could probably try to swap one of the Bracchus for a Jocol, but I prefer the greater attack power of the Bracchus, since they are still able to do a lot of damage in the higher levels (especially since their attacks ignore shields) and the Assailant-Synergy you get with two of them also increases the healing from the Siphoning Scratch.
I'm also not sure if there is a good substitute for the Kickstarter Krane, since maxing out the Healing-Synergy and the Intercept ability are pretty important. Brother Perth is (as far as I can tell) the only other (not consumed) companion with 2 Healing-Synergies and the Intercept ability, but it also has a way lower dodge chance and no Siphoning Scratch. It would probably be worth a try.
you can use a direwolf instead of a kit in the good team like this
Kit, Direwolf, Snowloon, Jocol, Thrasher
this gets to 20 pretty reliably too
what came first, bone copy or bone paste?
