Hello @blanco1colt !

The economy is still very new, as the game only launched a little over a week ago, so it is correct that new wolves are kind of expensive at the moment. Apart from breeding and buying from other players, the only other way to get new wolves is via the Campaign. Every once in a while in the later areas (not the first) you'll come across a Befriend; Wild wolf scenario. You get two options, either barking or wagging (which you choose I believe doesn't really matter) and you have a chance to befriend the wolf and take it home. The wolf will have one of the 3 starter breeds and random start markings, as well as completely random colours.

Since the chances to fail are pretty high, the staff are currently working on a system to make it better. But I don't know when that might be released.

@blanco1colt

After you leave the first area in any pack campaign (the first crossed sword area), you will start to have scenarios where you can befriend Wild Wolves. You can choose to bark a greeting or wag your tail to try and befriend a wild wolf. Don't be discouraged if you don't succeed at first - the chance to befriend a wild wolf is quite low. Staff is working a token system so that you can get a guaranteed wild wolf after failed encounters (but we don't know the details yet).

The first crossed sword area is one of the best places to hunt for wild wolves for newer players, as there are still quite a few scenarios that will give you food to regain your stamina.

Good luck and happy hunting!

Hello.

How do I leave the first area? Should I choose another option other than Goldsea.

Right now all I have is the option to Explore (which I keep doing and getting random items sometimes). Is there any benefit to choosing the ‘ignore’ option on one of these?

It also says cooldown is 15 minutes - cooldown for what?

I'm new so thanks for any help (I want new wolves asap cause I kinda made my all grey :| )

@Pocky

I followed this guide when I was learning about Wild Wolf encounters, I highly recommend it. It really doesn't matter what area of the map you're exploring - the trick is how fast you can explore. The guide recommends the second area of Goldsea as the best area to explore and I've found I agree. It's easy to get through pretty quickly.

Take a look at the guide for more details, but there's definitely a benefit to choosing “ignore” on certain events. When I'm wolf hunting, I find myself pretty much always skipping the cave event and the event where you battle Machaira, just because those take so much longer.

The cooldown you're seeing is the cooldown for the wolf/s that you've chosen to explore with. ^^ Once you've placed a wolf on your team it has to stay there for at least the 15 minutes. There are similar cooldowns for fishing and mining, too.
