Hi! Before the required item refresh a little bit ago in Farming, when it was still the Pumpkin Pie, I gave food in order to have compost/water maintained for twelve hours. But I noticed when I refreshed my page that none of my water/compost on the crops was maintained and I had to manually fill it.

I was wondering if someone could explain to me the mechanic better? Maybe I misunderstood.

My understanding/assumption of it was “If I give these pies, water and compost will refill on my crops while I'm not paying attention for twelve hours”. But is this not the case/did I misunderstand/misread somewhere? ;^^

Water and compost on crops should be maintained if you give the asked-for food, and you shouldn't have to manually fill them. However, you do still need to manually collect water and compost.

If your crops still needed to be manually given water and compost, I'd first check your inventory to see if the Pumpkin Pie(s) were consumed. If so, then that's worth a bug report.

As someone who accidentally gave them food once, yes, that's what's supposed to happen. I didn't see the boxes empty at all. If your pie was consumed, it was a glitch.

Thank you both!! It seems as though my pie was consumed (that or my Faulty Memory is getting the better of me!), so I'll look into a bug report in the morning.

The way it is working for me is as follows:

On the crops: while the service is active, the bars won't go any lower.

However, if the bars weren't completely full when I gave the food, they won't actually fill up! That I do have to do manually.

The water and compost stash will need to be manually collected once it has been filled up.

So if your case was that the bars on the crops weren't completely full, and after activating the service, they still weren't completely full, I don't think that is a bug (although in terms of QoL I would suggest they change it so that it does automatically fill up)
