Hah! Jk, unless you are, in fact, a nerd - in which case, you're in good company with me!
I came here from Flight Rising (user BeautyIsTheBeast), when I saw someone with a thread cross-site trading for Moonstones, and I wondered which site used those. I'm actually pretty surprised I never heard that Lorwolf was in development, because I pretty frequently do Google searches to find new pet sites. I've never stuck with any besides FR (Neopets changed too much from when I played it as a kid, and I was on Wajas for a long time before all my friends left the site and I didn't really have a reason to stick around without them. I've tried Aywas, IcePets, Subeta, Dappervolk, and more). I did manage to catch the Kickstarter backing window for Paw Borough, though! Pretty exciting. Had I known about this site during its Kickstarter campaign, I very likely would've been a backer.
Anyway, I'm in a transition period of my life, and at the current moment, I find myself with a lot of free time. That could change quickly, though! But I expect that I will actually have some time to figure out if this site is something I want to invest time in, and when I become busier, I will know whether I can keep up with it or not… I play these games to relax, so if it's very time-intensive or stressful, it might not be for me. But, so far, it looks promising!
I was really torn between Icerun and Darkspine when choosing packs. I found a little personality quiz you could take to find which pack suits you the most, but it didn't help with my decision because it gave me Goldsea as my result - funny, since I'm in Light Flight on FR! But I chose Light for its personal significance to me, and not the “logic and wisdom above all” part of the lore. In the end, I chose Icerun because it's my dream to live in the mountains, and I highly regard the traits of resilience and fortitude.
I'll be honest, I have very little idea of what I'm doing; I'm just feeling out the site as I go. The very first thing I did after making my starters was to breed them, then I did the first couple of quests in the Campaign, then I did some fishing and cooking. Thankfully, the tutorials do a pretty good job of explaining the basics.
First impressions? I love the art style of both the wolves and the various items you can collect. Not a fan of the automatic nature of battling - especially since I don't know what the graphics mean or what the combatants are really doing. Exploring can be a little frustrating when you have a quest goal and waste stamina on something that doesn't yield any rewards, but I think I'll get used to the random nature of it. I do like the fact that you can learn the right thing to do in various scripted situations. All around, as I said above, this game looks promising!
Well, I think that's about it for my intro post… I look forward to seeing what the community is like! As I said, I come from FR, so I have high standards in that regard.
