Unable to complete tutorial quest "here kitty kitty"

My wolves are level 1 and keep running into level 2-3 cats. I beat one group once I guess I just got lucky because I've fought a ton after that and I get steamrolled each time. Not sure how to progress. Is there any other way to get exp to level up?

You gain experience by collecting food and finding objects, so you can skip the battle encounters and do collecting for a while to help level up. Also, if you can get companions to equip that will also help.

Additionally, you can put this quest on pause and do other level 1 quests in the other areas and come back once youre stronger @izuna
