@vex I had a similarly evil thought. A mechanic called Desperation where, if your wolf has its Stamina bar depleted and there is no food in your inventory, the wolf immediately eats its Companion. KS companions are not exempt from this.
Also something else cursed: Make the wolf breeding mechanic closer to real life, where only the dominant pair in a pack produces pups. You have 2 lead wolves that you can select to produce pups for you, a male and a female; everyone else can't breed and studding is removed from the game entirely. You can change which wolves are your breeders, but this can only be done every few months.
Overcrowding: If you have too many wolves (like more than 15) per den they start to run away. There's a small chance they end up in another player's den if they have less than 15 wolves.
Eating like a Dragon: Stamina falls instead of raising over time. Feeding is the only way to increase stamina. The food system remains the exact same.
That's Just Life: Your Lorwolves die of old age.
You Want Me to Breed How Many Times?: Your Lorwolves can only breed 2-6 times in their life. Randomly determined at birth/generating. Runaway wolves don't regen breeding times. Applies to males and females. Low chance of 0 breeds, a sterile wolf.
WHO IS YOU: If you Sprinkle your wolves, there's a high chance the other Den mates get confused and attack it and reduce its stamina to 0. You have a chance of losing the wolf forever because they were driven out of their home.
Enough With The Fish: Your wolves need a balanced diet or they get sick. You need to supply your den with a random amount of bugs, plants, fish, and meat daily.
For each timer-based task where all you have to do is wait—hunting, cooking, farming, etc.—the window must be open AND active to run the activity, or else the timer pauses and the activity doesn’t get done. This means you can’t minimize the window or even browse on a different tab. You have to literally just sit and stare at the timer until the activity is done. And unless you have a monthly membership, you can’t even open Lorwolf on a second device to do other activities onsite while the timer is running, otherwise the timer gets paused for that too.
Instead of paying for extra apparel slots that can apply to all your wolves, you need to pay to expand apparel slots for each wolf individually.
You also can't change anything about your wolf's physical appearance after you enter them in a pageant. After you submit your wolf, you cannot remove or add apparel, change its genes, or change its breed until the next week's pageant. This feature is justified with an explanation that changing your entry mid-pageant to gain more of an advantage over others is akin to cheating.
You have to buy a new recipe scroll every time you want to craft something
Playing with a companion locks it on that wolf permanently. It follows the wolf when traded, sold, etc. Kickstarter companions are not exempt
Your wolves can return from hunts injured. The higher the hunt level, the greater the chance of injury. They have to recover for a long period of time and can't participate in any activities, and they require medicine daily or the injury recovery time is extended
You can't use any Arena models unless you own the corresponding wolf/companion
Wolves can now form rivalries among their packmates! Every minute the site rolls some secret dice. If all the dice ever land on the same number, all rival wolves coin flip against each other and the losers leave your pack. This can target any wolves, and you have to do a special forgiveness quest that only unlocks at level 25 in all professions to try and get them back one at a time.
@Sorrel and to add to that, imagine that the chased off wolf disappears from the site within 1 hour if you don't do the quest, meaning that newbies whose wolves run off are just totally out of luck because there's no way they can level up their professions that fast.
Pageant voting now encompasses allthe wolves on the site instead of just a small selection of wolves that you compete against. You also can't vote for anyone until you have seen literally every single entry.
Pond restock will be paid for by a sitewide donation pool to ease the burden on users, however, it will require a minimum total of 1000 each for every currency the site accepts (dollars, pounds, etc).
