I definitely support this.
That was a mechanic? That sounds wonderful for so many reasons! I, honestly didn't even breed my progens in beta because I wanted them to be platonic partners and I caved during full release and bred them, while their lore stayed the same.
I fully support this, I feel it is a wonderful and considerate idea for all players that would not really hurt game mechanics in any way. There is already an entire side of the market for studding lorwolves. I do see that this may not be something everyone really wants, but the option would be amazing!
And personally, I would want this option. Pretty badly.
Just like sovereignfives said (i saw your post after writing this, sorry djcjsmc so im kinda repeating some stuff but I wanna show my support on this idea!)
it's worth mentioning that people can already get around this by making their starter wolves exactly the same, and then getting a male offspring and studding that. Sure it takes someone understanding the game ahead of time (assuming no multi-accounting is involved) and the offspring won't be G1 so I guess it's not the exact same, but I've already seen people make starters that look similar for maximizing their chances at good offspring to sell to get a massive headstart in the game (which makes me sincerely regret my starter choices since I went in blind aha)
While adding this feature wouldn't fix that disparity, I think it would actually make people less likely to multi-account, because the people that didn't plan like that could still get some benefit from unmatchy starters!
Yep I support this. I see no reason not to? I mean, wild wolves can end up just as pretty even without their colours being specifically selected and progen children aren't “special” site-wise in any way. So why not?
Support, I won't mind studding my progen's when they aren't in use, and getting a suitable look alike for them is not easy I can assure you of that
My puppery! Pure bred G2 bracchus
Support.
I didn't even know they removed it after beta, I enjoyed studding my starter to my friends and also see what pups they'd get and I'd be able to stalk follow them.
Support. I just tried studding a male of mine for another user's progen only to discover that progens specifically couldn't be studded. Rather surprising and very disappointing.
Major support! It would be great to have user designed studs instead of lucky WW colors. Not to mention a lot of users Bracch'd their progens, making G1 Bracc studs much harder to find.
Support, my nicest Bracchus is a progen and I'd love to stud him.
I honestly don't see why this was rolled back. as someone on the first page pointed out, the risk of alt accounts for the ideal stud already exists by just making identical progens and breeding for a male. Additionally, apart from bracchi, gen2+ generally don't hold much value compared to gen1 (purely in terms of general value, not aesthetics), and since the progens themselves are untradeable, it's not as if super pretty gen1s are being created and traded. Support from me!
