I support this. in a way...
Arena is still one of the most, if not the most, unpopular activities on Lorwolf. Don't get me wrong, I understand that for people who play a lot or Arena bots are far too easy. But the problem doesn't lay there. For the majority of players of Lorwolf they are far too hard, making them the reason why there are so few natural player encounter. If I'm not wrong, most Arena players organize sessions on Discord. This should be the way.
The way Arena is built is to meet with random players, and bot should be there only to fill a couple of empty slots during slow times. But right now, there are not enough players in Arena. And with new players only encountering and being pushed away by bots that are too hard for them this is just a loop.
I don't think the overall level of the bots should be reduced. Rather, I'd suggest having something like 5 "training" games the first time you play arena with a tutorial with easier bot and a 6th that the player will play by themselves. That should make the bot less of a barrier of entry to the arena. To that I would add in the normal queue the number of players in the arena (waiting and playing) so people roughly know how much they will have to wait before getting a game started. Make so the bots can't take more than 4 arena slots. And my last suggestion would be to add a site wide alert system that you can only trigger when there is less than X number of players in arena so people can seek for players ore easily within the whole population of Lorwolf and not just on discord. Of course this alert system would be optin for arena player so only them can see the alert.
I know this is a lot of suggestions and I may not be clear enough. Don't hesitate to ask questions about my ideas, maybe together we can improve it for every one.
