Rufasi is a name I've used for a long time as a starting name for petsite/sim games. Can't remember how I started that but it's a theme I've stuck with.
Maasa was just random. I got “Massy” from a random name gen and changed letters, though I've kept the name since beta so there's that I guess. And apparently it's the name of a donut from Mali lol. Once I figure out which of the two kids I'm keeping they'll also have the names I picked in beta to keep the theme I'm making for lore.
Moth: I just name after words I think fit, pick on a word website, ask my friends what the first thing they can think of, and more.
Nova was just a cool name and I misspelled Dusk as Duck and I thought it was funny so I have a kit named Duck now.
whenever I first get a wolf, I think of at least one solid trait or something about them and look up names that mean that. it causes some weird names and stuff, but normally it works out well.
Currently, most my wolves are just named after random characters that their colors remind me of (and unfortunately I doubt many people on here will recognize them, haha), although a few of ‘em are just names that I thought looked neat. I’ll probably give them all more unique names later down the road, though.

For WWs, I generally just keep the names they come with unless inspiration hits me otherwise… I really like that WWs come with their own names, it makes it feel like I've really recruited someone new :)
My two starter wolves are a special case though…their names were inspired by the characters I based them off of. No idea what I'm gonna do for pups yet LMAO
