I currently have a naming convention of only naming my wolves after birds! Ideally, birds that look like the wolf!

I'd like to hear other peoples naming conventions or processes on how they come to get their wolf's name

My current favorite is Fruit Dove! My first WW! I managed to find the perfect bird to represent them!

I've been listening to audiobooks lately and normally I grab random words from it when I need a name LOL. I'm working through the Inheritance cycle right now, so I ended up with Treason and Fealty!

I only have two wolves right now, Tidal and Fen! Their names are both themed around swamps and the sea, since they live in a mangrove forest, and I intend to keep my wolf names mostly following that theme in the future! :]

i keep them as their randomly generated names. or random thoughts i had at the time like meows or zonkerdoodle so yeah, i dont have a theme and i just name them whatever i want lmao

I'm keeping most of mine as the randomly generated names they ended up with. I think they're cute!

I will be changing the name of a few of them, but I love the random names they come with a lot.

I name some of my Permanent Wolves that I don't breed after already existing OCs, but most I'll just be making up names for.

I have been going with food. Wasn’t even intentional, but I like it.

I take chunks from the scientific names of deer.

My progens are Capreolinae, from the family of deer/elk/moose, and Alces, from the scientific name for a moose!

My first pair are Lime and Ashleg, just the first two lazy words I thought of. I do like naming characters after silly mundane things.

Ashleg is also the name of a character from the book Mossflower that I have a soft spot for :)
